Tuesday Night Triumph - May 4th, 2010
Live from The Grand Hotel in Harbor Springs, Michigan
------------------------------------------------------
“An Appetizer”
-Singles Match-
MillionDollarMan vs. Young Gangsta
Winner: Young Gangsta (unopposed)
"Part Deux"
-Singles Match-
AJ Scally vs. Seraphiel
Winner: Draw
“Welcome Back Wood”
-Tables Match-
Human Wreckingball vs. Johnny Enmity
Winner: Human Wreckingball
Thoughts: HW got the nod here out of flow, he seemed to do well with providing a commentary for the match itself. In Johnny's defense, he definately did impress me, but a big turnoff was the whole blood and guts thing this time around. It WOULD work in a deathmatch, but not tables.
“Seen The Light”
-Singles Match-
Chris Pyro vs. Winthorp Darkrites
Winner: Chris Pyro
“A King of Carnage”
-Hardcore Match-
Skull vs. Ryan Hughes
Winner: Skull
Thoughts: You both did a great job out there! I was thoroughly impressed with the storytelling you two came up with which included the weaponry. Overall, good match. Skull's post seemed more solid, and even though Ryan provided excellent material, his ideas weren't given the time to stew and play out. But hey, it's exam season, and we post when we can.
“Unsettled Matters”
-Singles Match-
Dominik Santiago vs. Santo Mascaras
Winner: Draw
Thoughts: Indeed, I was disappointed to see this end this way, however I know the both of you will put on an amazing show this Sunday. Both Santo and Dom are/have become two favorites of mine, and I really hope that I can utilize your talents. Good luck!
GHW King of the Deathmatch Championship
-Flaming Tables Match-
GreenSpark vs. Darth That Guy
Winner and Still KOTDM Champion: Darth That Guy
Thoughts: Darth excelled in solid posts with good trading, and as always has never let down from a good-lengthed match. Spark, some of your better stuff to date, but I think we'll need to work on you getting some more standard match writing down. I credit you on your effort, as I do see some things catching with you, and indeed you seem very creative. Good luck this Sunday, gents.
“Vortigern’s Ultimatum”
-Singles Match-
Wolverina vs. Brian Breme
One RPer is in Junior year exams, the other in a full-time job. Both scored 72 Hour Posts. Brian's first post was strongest, Haven's second as well. Both of these I keep in high regard, so much so, that I have needed to focus on the negatives moreso. This match gave me a headache -and no, it wasn't terrible, it's just so damned even, and a few words that I don't even know at this time. Issue with Wolvie's was the table spot, which I'm not sure whether or not I'd like in such a technical match -yet does fit the atmosphere of this main event- unfortunately Dylan's finishing moves right out of the gun didn't agree with me either, but I'm willing to let both of these pass because you did really great jobs and let you have artistic license. That's right, I'm clawing at commentary table and early finishers for a reason to let one of you win, what a main event. Dylan's second post had a lot of trading with the whole Brian-Haven thing, seemed really repetitive and did bother my reading a tad. Both did incredibly well with having the commentary team help highlight the story, both made the match special, both kicked each other's asses, both made names for yourselves from this one match. This is tough, really tough, but I really don't know what to do with this. Neither of you really have the right to lose, but what I've read...it's insane. If this match was acted out, I'd feel 9 years old because some of this made me feel like a kid. Stairs, commentary tables, piledrivers, just everything. I've read this three times now (over the time of writing this) and I really leave no other options on the table. A decision like this I personally have never decided, and the last time a result of such spans back nearly three years ago. I sincerely hope that the both of you respect this decision. I dislike relying on such, I never have, but I can't find anything that gives me a finite advantage. I've judged Santiago, Strife, Kingbear, Hardkore...nearly everyone. But every match I could figure out who got the upper hand, but I can't this time. Haven, Dylan, I immensely appreciate your efforts with busy lives, and wish you both nothing but the best this Sunday.
Winner: Time Limit Draw
GM's Note: Thanks for your time this week, guys! Thanks again! Rest up, because at least 14 of you have the chance of walking out of NeXuS with gold at your waists. And believe me, winning NeXuS feels just as immense as if you did it in person.
