Ok, lately I have been feeling a little flat about posting in some matches. And I have figured out why. I come into a match wanting to put my all into it, and in the last two or three matches I have been in (and a large proportion of the matches I have read recently also) I have failed to give everything my all. The reason... Entrances. I know that not everybody re-writes a new entrance for every match, and that is fine with me. But when I read an entrance that only says: "______________'s music plays and ___________ walks to the ring wearing his usual attire." ...Then it doesn't exactly inspire me in the match. I work hard in my matches, and although entrances are not judged as part of the match, I don't really see that as a reason to brush over them. Even a cut and paste entrance like some people do would be fine, I just want something that sets the scene of the match (and personally, I DO think that it should factor into the results. If somebody can't be assed putting effort into things, and the other person can... but thats just me- And no, I'm not moaning about recent results, thats not how I roll) Thoughts and feelings? Please, keep it civil. I can take constructive criticism and I expect you all to be mature enough to do the same.

For me, it's really a time constraint thing. If I'm in a hurry to post, or if I'm the last to enter and don't want to hold anyone up, I'll usually just jot down something quick to get it started--like I did with you after we missed the first few days. If they were being judged I'd certainly put more effort in (see last weeks entrance) but when they're not important to the result it comes down to whether or not I have time.
Perhaps they should be factored in, but if we do that it means if two people post the journey to the ring, with the same quality and quantity of writing put in, then the second guy decides to tack on a speech or a back and forth, it gives him a bit of an unfair edge in the judging.

I SUPPORT HAI-DAN. THOSE WHO DON'T DO PROPER ENTRANCES... GO KILL YOURSELF.

You know Hayden I would have to agree with you that an entrance could make or break a match. But I do understand being under constraints with RL...I don't know though if making entrances count a bit toward matches would in any way effect someone winning or losing based off a shitty entrance even if they posted a good match. But I do feel you about entrances making you wanna put effort into matches.
Also not sure how coherent that sounds what I replied with had wisdom teeth pulled and riding the vicodin train. Its a good feeling lol

So Kahlan, are you going to kill yourself... Considering you've done many 5 word entrances.
'KaHLaN comes to the ring.'

....it's like the entire reason Hayden's written this piece. Now yeah, anywho moving on. I disagree that they should factor into the judging process, heck I don't even read the darn things half of the time. But I will agree that they do set the match up. The main reason I say they should not count is as such, you can be the best match writer on this earth, but can blow ass when it comes to writing an intro. I myself am like this *Though not even close to the best match writer in the world but you know what I mean* I am a...decent...match writer but when it comes to entrances, or promo in general, I am really not all that great.

I was always better in the promo thing, but I also want to be an author so I try my best to do writing no matter what it is.

I'd totally be open to the idea that entrances would count towards a match..
Anyone else care to give their two cents?

I'd like to see a little more on how exactly theyd count towards a matchbefore it was implimented to be honest. If it was a merit system, for example, you post an actual entrance (copy/paste or basic) then it counts for more than someone who simply puts "such and such walks to the ring." then I'd be down with that.
If however you want something where it means if two people write entrances the same length and quality til the point where they hit the ring, and the second guy pulls out a great promo to boot and you give him a boost in the match because of it, then no I'd have to oppose.

Aw man. What about the people who don't feel like posting a long entrance. I don't know about you guys but it has become a bother for me. Wasting time on entrances is a motivation killer to me, why waste your inspiration in entrances rather than in matches?

Plain and simple entrances should NOT count, they are useless to the match it's self. Sure it gets you to the ring, but A. Like Roadkill pointed out it would give the 2nd entrant a huge advantage *because they could read what the other wrote and bust out some gigantic promo to it* and B. It takes away from the match, the more time you waste making an intro look better, the less you have to think about how to make...ya know the MATCH better.

I say entrances should only count in a close as fuck match, when one guy has a three line entrance that sucks. Asides from that, quality of entrance shouldn't matter, just shit little barely thought out mini entrances.

Perhaps they should count in PPV matches? Is there a resolution that leaves everyone happy?
