So "I", being used as the example by Hayden, should be penalized for doing a shitty one line post even though every other match I've had has shown an original intro? Darth very much captured my mood on it, if we make them important then the copy/paste method most people use greatly would become null and THEN people'd complain.
Basically put, there shouldn't be a rule of entrances or a rule of no entrances. If you're shot for time, throw up some quick post and let the other guy get on with the match, if you have time sure knock yourself out and have a ball writing an entrance I just don't think they should be counted as part of the match. It may be better for the people who bother reading our entrances to get a grasp on the picture, but if everyone followed the stories, they'd know how my guy was feeling coming into the match or how he'd act or if he was bandaged up.
If someone does them every week then sure, a nudge from management to put in the minimum copy/paste entrance could help.
