Saw this on a forum, copied it.
Basically, I'll post a statement which many of you will consider nonsense, but for the purpose of this thread, is the gospel truth. Someone than has to post an argument in favour of that statement, after which someone can come in and retort, rip the argument to shreds and attempt to make the original poster look like a complete and utter bellend for even having that opinion, and so on and so forth until the argument has run it's course, at which point the public will vote on who made the vest case. I'm not sure if it will work, but it might. If this thread goes well enough, I might make a bit of a tournament out of it with people sIgning up to actually take part. But that's for another time, for now, let's just have a trial run with the following statement.
Bubba Ray Dudley is the best thing to happen to professional wrestling.
Simple enough, yeah? Now, someone make me believe it.

I can't because it isn't true. Now, if you said Signing Bryan Danielson was one of the best choices WWE has ever made[/u] I could easily convince you.

Here's one of my points.
For years, Bubba's official finisher was the Bubba Bomb.
It was a move when, from the full nelson position, he would lift the opponent up and drop them on their arse.
This was considered a finishing move.
In other words, dropping somebody on their backside was technically on par with the Tombstone, the Pedigree or the Stone Cold Stunner.
And Bubba made us believe this was credible.

Smarky... your first point is irrelevant, i agree Bubba is a great person for pro-wrestling but not for your reason, Bubba not only has won the tag titles in every company, not only was he an AMAZING booker at ecw, not only does he rub anyone and show up for matches every time. BUT.... Bubba has been recruiting young talent and training them, and anyone who trains guys how to wrestle is the greatest thing for the buisness in my opinion even booker t who i absolutely hate him as a person i respect cause he trains young talent. and on that note... who am i? Im Sal Mandini. Wanna wrestle?

Bubba Ray is a joke of a Fighty fighty person in today's day and age. Back in the past in didn't matter if you had an obscene, overweight body when it came to wrestling but nowadays its all about image and Bubba Ray looks like a has-been and always has, which makes him a never was. The only thing he brought to wrestling was hardcore elements such as Tables matches. That isn't wrestling technically, its Hardcore fighting. As for his tag-team accomplishments, it was Devon who always carried the team. Think about it, Devon did all the work, Bubba was only good for trash talking.
Devon managed to work a singles angle, Bubba can't do singles for shit.

Your opinion is valid but keep this in mind The Dudley Boys didnt invent using table just got known for it, and yeah they are hardcore brawlers, but with the logic your using you would also have to say names like raven, jack victory, rhino, mark henry. who are all not in the perfect body like randy orton or chris jericho, are also has beens as well as, with the statement you made every match jericho was in made him also a hardcore brawler with all the others i mentioned b4, sure he was the mouth of the group but he also know how to call spots like a mofo, he had probably the most ring psychology of any other ecw Fighty fighty person besides raven and jericho. Sure Bubba looks like he did nothing and Devon did do a lot of carrying with some stuff, but you cant sell the man short, he was not only competeting for ecw he was also booking the venues for them as well. Just food for thought

Booking shows, booking venues? That doesn't make him a good Fighty fighty person, it just shows he did a lot for the show. Perhaps he should become a backstage manager or booker or something, that doesn't mean he's the best thing to happen to professional wrestling. Nobody gives a shit about what people do backstage, nobody ever gives credit to the bookers, its always been about what comes on show. Anybody can write a story, I mean even us guys can write stories for wrestling, I mean that's what we do when we Roleplay, but should it come to the ring and putting on charismatic wrestling show, its not that simple.
Todays day and age is for those who can put on a show and wrestle well. People like Kurt Angle are the greatest thing that happened to pro wrestling, not Bubba Ray.

despy remember the statement me and smarky are making is Bubba Ray Dudley is the best thing to happen to professional wrestling. not that he is the best Fighty fighty person, and i totally agree with you fans single in on only what the Fighty fighty person does, take miz for example he has brought more publicity to the wwe as champion then any other before him, he does almost every talk show or radio show that asks him to come on, even as far as getting little to no sleep that day because of things, yet people think he is the worst champion ever, miz busts his ASS for wwe and I respect the hell out of him for it, as well as Bubba has and does bust his ass as well to make tna and his Fighty fighty persons he trains better for the buisness, If only fans saw what people actually do we wouldnt have workers like Ultimate warrior who no shows events and doesnt let anyone go over on them.
im just saying, if you stack the facts for bubba hes a sage in the business compared to most

I understand the point you are making my friend. Fair enough, you could say he's done a lot for pro wrestling with all the hard work he puts in but by no means is he 'The Greatest' thing that ever happened to pro-wrestling. There are many people out there that have changed the face of Pro Wrestling. They have taken it to a very high position and these people come in well before Bubba Ray as the greatest. Bubba is far from the greatest and he's still not a great Fighty fighty person in my opinion.

Its a statement I don't agree with. And I have stated my reasons why, based upon my opinion of Bubba Ray. I believe this argument is over for we've come to a sort of understanding that we both can have a difference of opinion and its not really getting anywhere now. Lets start a new one.

agreed despy your allowed to have your reasons of why you dont think so and the only reason this went on as long as it did was because it sounded like you were saying that he was a bad worker in general and not just in ring, I agree hes not the best Fighty fighty person ever not even in my top 500, but as a worker he is amazing

No, I actually like Bubba, I just was trying to Argue, because that's the point of this thread. I actually enjoy his matches as well, lol. I just thought I'd pick the opposite end. So basically, I was arguing for the sake of arguing. Because I enjoy debating.
