Ryan’s Notes:
Another solid week on Triumph, with another bunch of good reads to feast upon. My only real gripe, if any, is the K(Q)otDM matchup, but hey, you can’t fault Dustin for burnout.
Match of the week for me is the Triple Threat match. Shawn rode the momentum from his match against Hayden last time around, and showed his class and potential with a solid victory here. JD, you are showing some decent skills, but you just need something extra to add a little flavour to your RPs if you wanna hit the big time. Experiment a little, it could mean the difference between Stage 1 dropout and a final four place. I’ll give you some advice that Matt Oliveira gave me this time last year: give your ideas time to stew a little. Instead of going from spot to spot, try and focus in on some to give the reader something to visualise fully. I followed that advice, and guess what? I won the NeXuS Deathmatch that year. In fact, that’s advice for everyone.
Kudos also for Ryan Matusiak and Sam Keane. For talents knocking on the door of the upper echelon, you both pulled out some good stuff this week. Ryan, a couple of things threw me off during judging. You used some lines which really shouldn’t be used. Ever. Things like “The crowd begin to hit everything they can, including their kids heads, as they begin to make a loud drumming sound in order to spring Matusiak or Keane into life.” I get your trying to inject humour, and that’s a good thing, but this line kinda threw me. I would leave the wit and humour to the commentary or superstar dialogue if I was you. Also “exchange punches in an almost WWE like fashion” isn’t a good line. Instead, try and explain the speed or frequency of the punches. Or something. Aside from that, good job.
Well done to Matt V and TPK also. Both of you pulled out some good RPs, and it’s a shame to see such a great character retire. BRING BACK THE JUSTICE SYSTEM, I SAY.
Anyway, next card will be up shortly, where the cocky Barta Bull attempts to get a new contract, with none other than Ryan Hughes in his way, we will have a fucking wedding, and the GHW Tag Team Championships will FINALLY BE DEFENDED!
