Ryan’s Notes:
Gonna sound like a broken record here, but this week was another good, solid week for Triumph. Nice mix of predetermined finishes and all out slogfests. Had to judge quite a lot tonight, and I liked it. So lets get to reviewing this son of a bitch. Are you sitting comfortably? No? Well fuck you, I’ll start anyway.
Match of the week for me is split this week, between Legion/Urban Lions and our Tag Team Title match between The Templar and The Night-Lights. Both matches went one post each, but both managed to tear the judging panel so much that it took a couple of sittings to get definitive winners. Shawn, you had a very good outing, but I didn’t think it was as awe-inspiring as your last couple of weeks. But hey, things hardly ever get better all the time, let’s just hope this is a minor blip. Sam, you really showed your credentials in this match, and it makes me think big things are on the horizon for you in due time. As for the Tag Title match, it was another close back and forth between two established writers. Both of you put in a lot and it showed, and I was deciding between a fault on either side. On one hand, Jake took advantage of the 72 hour rule. On the other, Jakes post seems like it was all-Templar. After a long deliberation, I pictured how a match between two smaller men and two very large monsters would go. And indeed, it played in my mind as the monsters taking full control in the first five minutes or so. And on that basis, I gave the Templar the victory tonight.
Also, hats off to JD Elliott for making the most out of a strange situation with Ryan Matusiak. And double hats off for putting your plans past me first. At least you managed to garner some badass heat for doing what you did in retiring Matusiak. It’s a shame really, because I liked the premise of the Matusiak character (albeit needing a little reconstruction). Let’s see if Ocean can build on that promise on Combat. Well done to Billy Brass too, who managed to pull out the win against The Psycho Kid, even if it is by request. I bet you can pull something special out if you fought again though.
Also, Barta Bull has a GHW contract! If you haven’t seen how the match finished, it is up in The Ring board.
Stay tuned because the next TNT card is coming shorty. PEOPLE TALKING! PEOPLE FIGHTING! R-TRUTH SMOKING? THINK OF THE CHILDREN~!
