As TNT returns from a commercial break, the camera cuts to the backstage area where Charlie Coors is standing by.
Coors: I'm backstage right now with one of tonight's competitors in the Hardcore Gemes, "The Pureblood" Skull. Now Skull, you competed in last years Games which is where you first encountered your long time rivals, the Walker brothers. How confident do you feel about The Games this year?
Skull's face tightens up at the mention of the team known as Roadkill but he remains otherwise emotionless as he speaks.
Skull: It's funny you should bring up Thomas Walker and his interference-running brother. It seems like everything always leads back to them.
Coors: Could you elaborate?
Skull: It's a cliché, but some people say they are married to their career. I guess I could be one of those people. Wrestling is a harsh mistress after all, it's quite fitting. But like most marriages, something hasn't been right for a long time and I can trace it all the way back to Tommy. As you said, it was this time last year that we first met between those ropes. It was Tommy that stole my lucky charm, my legacy, my shrunken head necklace. A necklace I would and did risk my career for. A necklace I lost my career trying to defend.
You see Charlie, that was more than just a necklace, more than just a trophy of my victories. It was the physical representation of my glorious career. A career that still remains in Tommy's hand.
But none of that matters now. The earth has taken a complete rotation of the sun, the stars have re-aligned and everything has come full circle. Tonight, by winning my match and then the Hardcore Games, I will break free of the curse that has afflicted me for the last year. When I win the Hardcore Games, it will be as if I never met Roadkill, as if they never existed.
If not... then I will honour my word, I will respect my embargo and I will never set foot in GHW again.
With this Skull walks away to prepare for his match, leaving the announcer alone.
Coors: Strong words from a man who it seems has more to fight for than anybody else. Good luck tonight Skull.
