Born on the 7th of July 1987, twenty four years later in the present day the name Kahlan Clarkson has become a well-known, iconic figure in professional wrestling across the globe. Her rise to fame and riches is a story of an iron will and determination.
Kahlan was born in the City of Newcastle Upon Tyne, in the North East of England. She was the first child of a small family of four, where she lived a comfortable early life within the middle class society of her birth place. She attended School at her home town until the age of 17, when she left high school one year early to follow her dream and become a professional Fighty fighty person. This brought her to the land of opportunities, America and she signed up with a very small, non-reputable company called the VOW. She was trained there for three years, and proved to be a star student for she was scouted by GHW’s Talent Search Team in 2007 and was given a contract.
Kahlan’s first professional match in Wrestling was one with her career launch in GHW where she debuted against a GHW’s Legend, Hayden HardKore. Although defeated, a strong performance against the multi time world Champion helped her to pile consecutive victories in her next few matches, steadily building the basis of her growing fame. Her impressive start forced Hawkeye, that time Triumph’s General Manager, to recognise her achievements by giving her the chance to win the status of becoming the number one contender for the New Age title against the Champion of that time Samoa Joe. In order for her to gain the prestigious honour she had to face and defeat the Champion in what turned out to be a career defining moment for Kahlan. To win the contract Kahlan used her sharp wit to persuade Joe to face off against her in a Ladder match. Kahlan was defeated but her phenomenal performance created a historic match that became one of GHW’s classics and gave Kahlan the scintillating nick name of the “Ladder Queen”.
The “Ladder Queen’s” reputation only grew from there as she later on formed a partnership with Johnny Abs to win GHW’s world tag team titles as the Heartbreakers to start her first title reign. Continuing her success Kahlan pulled together a winning spree beating the likes of Luciano and the 2008 Nexus Deathmatch Winner Ryu Kenamora. All of this successive wins came to an abrupt halt when the Heartbreakers were given their toughest challenge to date, being forced to compete against Stone Orchard consisting of Metal Dragon and Mathew Oliveira in an Ultra-Violent match. The brutal contest lived up to its violent name and the Heartbreakers weren’t just defeated but were broken as the consequences resulted in Johnny Abs being forced to retire due to serious injuries. This unfortunate occurrence led to events which later on resulted in Kahlan vacating the tag titles under controversial circumstances and quitting the company for GHW’s rivals Eagle Vision Pro Wrestling.
After being away for two years Kahlan once again returned to the new GHW with guns blazing. The Special One’s first act was to form an alliance with her close friend Shawn Dreamer, a new face in GHW, to create the most innovatively spectacular tag team in the history of the company, the infamous Cut Squad. This couldn’t mean anything but instant success as the Cutting duo won the tag titles within the first month of their union starting a new era of awesome. The awesome fever took over the brand and soon after, Dominik Santiago Joined forces with Cut Squad to form the most dominating power on the landscape of Glory and Honour Wrestling, the Legion.
Two months later at the biggest event in GHW, at Full Circle, the inseparable Shawn and Kahlan were forced apart by the management to compete in separate contests and Dreamer lost both titles to an opportunistic Alex Knight, while at the same time Kahlan got her ego crushed by an old man in the name of Hawkeye. Kahlan recovered quickly however, and in the process won the Television Championship but was forced to vacate the title due to injury sustained from Jake Diamond in a Main Event Cage match on TNT.
