The scene begins by showing one half of the latest Death From Above ladder match qualifiers, Dow Jones, holding onto a wall for support, sweat dripping down his face. He stumbles forward a few steps, before seeing two jobbers, one of which with a water bottle in hand. DJ holds his hand out and the jobber gives him the bottle, Dow taking a sip, thanking the jobber and moving on, still weary and battle tested from his match. As sod's law would have it, Dow's visions of a shower and a relaxing nap in his locker room is jerked away from him, as Charlie Coors hurries into view and thrusts a microphone into the Hometown Hero's face.
Dow, how does it feel that you're in the Death From Above ladder match at Full Circle?
Excuse me asking, but can we make this a sit-down interview, Coors?
Oh, right, of course.
Coors strides over to some nearby chairs and pulls out two, setting them out next to each other. Dow painfully sits down on one, with Coors next to him, microphone still in Jonesy Boy's face.
Thank you. Now in answer to your question, it feels great on one hand, painful on the other. But I'll go with the great because if I win at Full Circle, I got myself another shot at the New Age title, hopefull still held by Hayden HardKore. You know, ever since I defeated Mighty Man Millson at Red, White and Bruised in that Ladder match, I've been thinking. I'm 37 years old, which is too old in my opinion to be getting a shot at the grandest prize this sport has to offer for the first time. I fought Hayden nevertheless and in one of his toughest title defences to date, he just managed the victory. However, if I had of been in my prime, It might have been a different story, but I'm not going to moan about Hayden, he got the win and he earned it. However, I do want another chance to defeat HardKore and prove that age doesn't matter, not just to all the veterans in wrestling, but also to myself. If I win the Death From Above match at Full Circle, I am coming for the New Age title, thats a guarantee, regardless of whether it's Hayden or not. However, Hayden, if your not champion, listen to this. I do want a rematch and I'm sure you do too, so it will happen, it's just a case of when.
Dow's hometown fans cheer for this statement, a mouth-watering prospect of a match becoming reality. Once the cheers die down, the Boston Brawler continues to adress the audience.
Which brings me to the DFA match itself. What's the one thing every competitor but me has in common in that match? I'll tell you. Age. They're all young, up and coming stars that have a huge future ahead of them in this company and this industry. Freddie McGavin defeated me last week, so he's no mug. In fact, before I qualified, he was my favourite to win the whole match. Freebird McCoy is ripping up the competition on Live and TNT, even defeating Nicholas Carson last week, Vyrus is a member of the Psychotic Circus and Jack Tracks is our new Television champion. All young stars that have already achieved veteran accomplishments and are all future New Age champions, in my eyes. Then there's me. A knackered 37 year old with one Television title under his belt and a failed run at the top. With all the youngsters coming up the ranks, it's going to be hard for an old man like me to stay at the top, so I'll guarantee this. If I fail to win the DFA match at Full Circle, I will take a serious look at my career in pro wrestling. I'll have my rematch with Hayden and then that could be it. Dow Jones/Adam Jones, whatever you want to call me, could be over.
Dow stands up painstakingly as the crowd gasp, before lumbering off to his locker room.
