The scene opens with the most punchable man in the GHW arena, resident interviewer Charlie Coors, smiling at the camera. He wears a suit and tie to keep in fitting with the PPV atmosphere and has a microphone raised to his lips. Without hesitation, Coors brings out his intended interviewee.
My guest at this time, the man who has won a bye into the second round of the Nexus Deathmatch, Johnny Simpson.
A round of boos echo around the arena as the Georgian bodyguard steps into view, dwarfing the smaller figure of Coors, no emotion portrayed on his face as he stares down at the obviously intimidated interviewer. Wanting to get on with the segment, Charlie asks his question.
Johnny, last week you won a Battle Royal to earn your place in the second round of the Nexus Deathmatch. What do you think your chances are of winning the entire thing now?
A rare smile envelops the lips of The Punisher as the question is asked and as Coors holds the microphone in front of Simpson, he answers.
100%. I'm going to enter the Nexus Deathmatch after all 12 of the other competitors have been through hell to get there. I'll be coming in fresh. There can only be one winner. And let's be honest, a man of my size and power would have been one of the favourites to win the match in it's entirety, let alone with the most brutal and dangerous round out of the equation. Now I may only be a newcomer in GHW, but I've been learning my trade from the best pure Fighty fighty person we have here in this company, Mighty Man Millson. So from a wrestling standpoint, I'm one of the best in this match. From a brutality standpoint, we've already decided I'm one of the best in this match. And lastly, but most importantly, from a desire standpoint, I'm the best in this match. And let me tell you why that is.
Simpson makes a gesture for Coors to give him the microphone, which the trembling interviewer immediately does, afraid of being beaten if he refuses to co-operate. Once the mic is in his hands, Simpson turns to face the camera and adresses the GHW audience and competitors at the same time.
I was born in Macon, Georgia, to a farming family. I had no money, no prospects and because of my size, I was bullied. People thought they could pick fights with me and for that, I was excluded from everything. And that's when it hit me. I needed to get out of that small-time hick town and I needed to make something of myself so I could reach the big cities and become part of everybody else's world. So I picked up a few books, I studied hard and I got good grades in school. I moved to Boston, got myself a job as a commercial lawyer and I settled down to make something of myself. That's when I found wrestling. Finally, something where my size and strength could make me a big star.
I've come a long way from being a big, simple farmhand and all the hard work I've put in will not be in vain. I'm going to win the Nexus Deathmatch, I'm going to challenge for the GHW championship and then I'm going to go and rip out a page from the history books, just for myself. One big ape from Macon, the 6th winner of the Nexus Deathmatch. And for everybody who's tried to put me down over the years and for everybody who will try to put me down inside the cage, your time for punishment has come.
Simpson thrusts the microphone back into the arms of Coors before leaving the set to end the interview.
