"Ladies & Gentleman, our main event for this evening, THE SIXTH ANNUAL NEXUS DEATHMATCH!"
The sold-out GHW Arena erupts in a fan frenzy cheers and hollars as that special time of year has indeed arrived.
"As you can see, each one of these four cages includes three competitors each, only TWO of these three men will move on to the second round. In cage number four, only ONE competitor will advance due to the odd number of competitors."
"As per GHW ruling, Round One will commence at the start of the bell. In which the participants will fight until the doors situated in each cell roof will open. There will be NO disqualifications. There will be NO countouts. Every cell door is locked, and there will be NO possibility of interference."
"It's been nearly 13 months since our last NeXuS!" "I tell ya, its certainly been worth the wait considering the amazing talent in this year's contest!" "I think extending it to June has just given NeXuS that much more hype, Matt and Al.
DING! DING! DING!

"Let's Get this party started with a bang"
The sound of the ring bell cuts through the air, spurring all four cages instantly into action. The combatants in cage 1 meet in the center of the ring, a three way-stalemate ensuing as the trio size each other up. Nate brushes his metal-inspired locks away from his eyes and glares wildly at his long-time Kiwi foe. The pair seem to naturally square off, leaving the mystery-shrouded Vex aside momentarily. The trademark smile of Hayden HardKore is indeed etched onto his face as he locks horns with another for the first time in nearly a year.
The crowd rise as the titans clash, but peter out as Nate easily overpowers the lightweight Kiwi, driving him across the ring into the nearest turnbuckle. the pace of the match catching the veteran out slightly, Hayden is quickly hurled into the air before being dropped head first onto the waiting turnbuckle. The Kiwi staggers back across the ring, not quite sure what had hit him. Nate shakes his head in almost disappointment as he easily dispenses of the legendary Jackass with a simple Neckbreaker, planting him near the center of the ring triumphantly.
"Looks like Hayden is suffering from a spat of ring-rust... The old man doesn't seem to still have it like he used to."
"Indeed he does Fuzz. It might take him a little time to get his head in the right space, and I would expect Jerry Nate to take full advantage of that."
"It's been a long time. Hayden has to get over the fact that he is back and focus on the fact that he's getting his ass beat right now.
It's no mistake that Nate singled him out, strike while the iron is hot..."[/i]
Jerry's celebrations are short lived, however, as he is soon swept up into the grasp of the third competitor. Without so much as a sound, Vex whisks the Nebraskan off his feet, flinging him to the mat with a Hip Toss. The move itself does little but grab the attention of Nate. Nate rises quickly, before the mysterious Vex can take advantage of the position he is in. Vex lines up a dropkick, looking to knock Nate's head clean off his shoulders, but the crafty Nebraskan rocker simply brushes the attempt aside and watches a Vex crashes back first into the mat. Nate is quick to pounce, grabbing Strife's protege by the seat of his pants and tossing him into the steel caging, like a drunkard being ejected from a dingy bar by a steroid infused bouncer. Nate watches with a smile as Vex slams mask first into the cage, before tangling himself up in the ring ropes.
"Looks like Nate is on a roll. He overpowered Hayden, outclassed Vex - Jerry Nate has the upper hand in Cage One"
"It is far, far from over Fuzz. Don't count your chickens just yet."[/b][/i]
All of the commotion had given Hayden a chance to regain his composure. He singles Nate out, watching as the Nebraskan turns around, a grin on his face wide enough to rival Hayden's own. Nate is brushing his hands symbolically against each other as he turns, but stops upon catching a glimpse of the Jackass hurtling across the ring at him. The Flying Kiwi leaps into the air, twisting as he closes in on his target and catches Nate with a Back Elbow, sending the big man staggering backwards. The lightweight veteran kips up to his feet, feeling the momentum coarse through his veins like the days of old. A kick to the mid section doubles Nate over, before Hayden uppercuts the Nebraskan with a vicious left hand. Nate is sent sprawling backwards, punch-drunk, until he collides with the very turnbuckle he had dropped the Jackass onto earlier. Hayden's eyes sparkle with anticipation as he charges across the ring, closing the distance between himself and Nate.
The Kiwi looks to make up for his earlier blundering by upping the pace of the match to something he is more comfortable with. With no sign of slowing down, Hayden flows into another move. He takes to the air once more, using the second rope as a springboard and aiming a Dropkick in the direction of his Nebraskan rival. Nate opens his eyes in time and raises up a hand to defend himself. Hayden draws nearer, fully committed to his move. His feet slip past Nate's defenses and Hayden's Springboard Dropkick hits home. When the dust settles, the match is left in a level-playing field. All three men pick themselves up almost simultaneously, once again coming to meet in the center of the ring for round two.
"Hayden will try all night to use his speed. The key to Hayden's game-plan will be simple... Slow him down and keep him grounded. If he cannot get any momentum going, the Kiwi Jackass will be toast."
"From where I am sitting, it looks like a very even keeled match Fuzz. Three do not go into two, one of these favorites WILL be having an early shower after round one."
"God only knows how this will end up..."[/i]

The well acquainted adversaries begin to size one another up yet again, their rookie rival feeling left out as he steps up beside them to assert himself. The duo take notice of Vex and reward his eagerness with a set of chops across the pectorals that drive the wind from his lungs. While he clutches his chest, the veterans draw their fists back before bashing them against his skull in tandem, backing him into the ropes. Jerry moves in to further punish the masked man but the Kiwi blows by him suddenly, racing past him before taking to the air once more and planting the soles of his boots down onto the middle rope beside the recuperating newcomer. As he springs off of the cable, he twists his body back toward the Shotgun Kid and comes crashing down with the length of his torso across the width of the Cornhusker's chest. They fall into a heap upon the canvas, but the Jackass wastes little precious time in getting back to his feet to the tune of thrilled spectators.
"Springboard Crossbody out of nowhere! That right there is why I have to believe that Hayden has one of the best chances to take this match tonight. The man is simply electrifying and he always has energy and determination to spare." "Perhaps so, but you can never rule anyone out in a match like this. One bad mistake and any of these guys could go from contender to watching from the sidelines." "Absolutely. It's a dangerous match and when everyone is fighting with all that they have, it's really anyone's guess as to who will come out on top. This match brings out more fight in guys than you might ever realize that they have."
While Vex straightens himself and takes a deep breath to clear his mind of his lack of success in the bout so far, Hayden begins to approach him. The veteran starts to reel his arm back, the motion quickly registering in the mind of Strife's protege as an incoming clothesline. He steps forward, bringing his right foot over across the other before twisting around and hunkering down, dropping to his left knee as he juts his elbow back into the gut of the oncoming Kiwi. The obtrusion bends the 4-time King Of The Deathmatch champion forward, allowing his attacker to swing the limb forward in a semicircle and slam the breadth of his forearm into the jaw of the Jackass. Hayden staggers away, the fluid succession of strikes having taken the fight out of him for the moment. When his attacker comes back up to a vertical base, he launches a retaliatory haymaker, swinging violently for the masked man's cheek. The cloaked combatant leans back away from the lash and raises his hand up. He pushes the arm further along it's course, following in to keep it out of his way for the moment. He draws in closer to his adversary, shooting back with the point of his mid-arm hinge and treating the aerialist to another bitter taste of it, causing him to withdraw into the corner. As Vex pursues him, the boot of his forgotten foe comes down upon his shoulder, the result of an unforeseen Bicycle Kick. The rookie is flung towards the ropes, shooting in between the top two and into the steel caging. He comes to rest face down and against the rattling links, left motionless by the Satisfying One's surprise.
"Jerry Nate just absolutely devastated Vex with that kick!" "Al, you absolutely can not let yourself lose sight of your opponents in this match. If you focus all of your attention on one guy, this kind of a thing will happen 10 out of 10 times." "A bad rookie mistake on the part of this newcomer and I'd say he's paying dearly for it."
Looking to extend his advantage in the match, Jerry takes over the assault Vex had been unleashing upon the Daredevil from Down Under. Hayden interjects with a kick, protesting the Cornhusker's efforts as he plants it into his stomach. The Shotgun Kid shakes it off, giving it another try to the same result. Annoyed by the resistance, he leans in before spraying out a shower of noxious tobacco juices into the face of the Kiwi. Hardkore recoils, his eyes burning and gut wrenching from the vile attack, allowing Nate to close the gap at last and deliver a stiff set of knuckles to his temple, subduing him momentarily. He wraps his around the cranium of the Jackass, tucking it into his armpit and then pries his hand away from his irritated eyes before draping the arm over his neck. He leans in towards his captured victim, latching onto the back of his thigh firmly before using it to rip him off of the mat and into the air. The Satisfying One takes his time in backing away from the corner, demonstrating his control over his opponent. Once they are finally near the center of the ring, he drops back, slamming Hayden's head into the mat with a thunderous clap.
