With the partisan crowd baying for blood, the official produces the universal hand signal to the timekeeper and the bell is rung thrice, the clang of metal upon metal resonating throughout the arena. The two able competitors step forth, meeting in the middle of the squared circle and locking up in the standard Greco-Roman tie-up, whereupon the larger Simpson uses his hulking frame to force Desperado into the corner. Simpson breaks as soon as Daniels's spine hits the padded turnbuckle cover and a cocky grin envelops the face of the Punisher. With his battle plan forced to change, knowing that he can't match power with power in this contest, Despy takes the Muhammad Ali approach and strides towards the big man, only to plant his boot into Simpson's calf and beat a hasty retreat before the giant can react. The grin vanishes from the face of the Macon Native and he lunges forward, attempting to find the Nexus champion in his clutches. However, once more, the agility of Desperado reveals it's truest value and he ducks the outstretched arms of Simpson, before leaping into the air and extending both his legs out in front of him, slamming into the pectoral regions of the big man with a forceful Dropkick. Simpson staggers but his equilibrium remains intact, the result that Johnny remains upright like a giant redwood in a hurricane, however, unperturbed by the lack of impact from the Dropkick, Desperado clambers back to his fullest verticality and sprints at the giant, extending his arm to the side and connecting with a Clothesline onto the pectorals of the Punisher. Once again, Simpson merely staggers backwards, but this time, as Desperado instinctively runs towards the ropes to try and finish off the giant, he realises the stipulation of the contest and rubbishes that notion, turning back to face his foe and nevertheless, charging at the Feared Farmhand. However, the slight indecision gives Johnny time to recover and as Desperado charges, Simpson raises his right boot skywards, halting the momentum of Daniels dead as Despy runs his facial regions into the leather-clad wrestling boot.
Wow, what impact from that Big Boot. We heard that from all the way over here.
That's a game changer for sure and suddenly Desperado is in a bad position. You don't want Simpson in control of a match.
As the crowd witness the contest turn on a dime, the cheers heaped on James Daniels begin to cease and are replaced by worry for the well-being of the Nexus champion. Feeling this sudden change of atmosphere, Simpson places his boot onto the midriff of the supine Brooklynite and steps over his skeletal frame, all 284 pounds of the Bacon from Macon crushing the wind from Desperado's lungs like a dog chewing a squeezy toy. Daniels takes a few heaving breaths, desperately trying to retrieve some oxygen for his mistreated lungs, but before he can fully recuperate, Simpson is grasping his neck and lifting Daniels to his full 6 feet and 3 inches. Simpson shakes his head in a silent but astute signal that he wants the contest over, a place in the H-Games final at stake, before forcing his own cerebral cortex underneath the right arm of Despy and lifting Daniels into the air. Knowing the bone-crushing force that Simpson can deliver a Chokeslam with, Desperado swivels in mid-air and wriggles free of the big man's grasp, landing harmlessly on his feet. Eager to keep the momentum on his side, Simpson throws a wild haymaker in the vague direction of his adversary, which is easily ducked by the veteran Nexus champion. In one swift motion, Desperado flutters behind the giant and ducks his head underneath the left armpit of The Punisher, wrapping his arms around his sternum and lifting Simpson skywards. Showing great strength, Daniels falls backwards and hits the canvas spine-first, proving the old adage that the bigger they are, the harder they fall is indeed correct. The crowd emit a large cheer as the Olympic Slam manages to ground the super-heavyweight for the first time in the contest, Daniels now in complete control of the match.
And once again the momentum of this match changes following another swift counter from the veteran Desperado.
And who could have comprehended that Despy could lift Simpson so easily? Great move from the Nexus champion.
Without wasting any time or momentum, the veteran of GHW strides over to the turnbuckle and begins a speedy, albeit cautious, ascent to the top rope, the only part of the ring not surrounded by the barbed wire mesh. As Simpson begins to come to his senses, Desperado fights for balance atop the turnbuckle cover and once satisfied with his equilibrial state, the Brooklynite leaps into the point of no return, throwing his elbow forwards and crashing down onto the sternum of the Macon Native, connecting with an impactful Elbow Drop. As Simpson grunts in pain, Daniels decides to end this match before he endures too much pain, placing his singular frame on the chest of the Punisher and hooking his far leg, forcing the official to slide into the first cover of the night.
