The bell rings, as the match between Jack Tracks and AJ Scally is set to begin. To start off, the two men come forward from their corners and begin to circle one another. Tracks takes a more deliberate, measuring pace, as Scally's movements are a bit quicker, taking short hops to the side instead of one foot in front of the other. They both have all sorts of strategies going through their heads, but one of them acts on it first! Knowing that Tracks' footspeed can be a brutal weapon, Scally begins his precise attack. Quickly he lunges his foot forward, and gives Tracks a solid tag on the leg. Tracks winces and recoils a little, before trying to chase after the smaller Fighty fighty person. Scally is too fast, however, and ducks out of the way of the lunging submission expert. As AJ ducks away, he's able to get behind Tracks and land another kick to the back of the knee. The taller grappler staggers some, but it seems it'll take more than that to chop him down. But "more than that" is exactly what AJ had in mind. While Tracks staggered, AJ ran to the ropes behind the Indianan, and shot back towards the target. The smaller fighter ducks down, and slams his forearm against the same target. The high speed attack knocks Tracks down to one knee, a situation he certainly isn't familiar with.
"A chopblock to the knee bring Tracks off of his normally strong stance early on! It seems Scally is going for a very time-tested strategy...but it's strange. You normally see this sort of strategy used against big men or fliers. Knock down the trunk or keep them from flying."
"I usually wouldn't waste the effort for an approach like this on someone Tracks' size, but if you think about it, it makes alot of sense."
"How so?"
"Alot of what makes Jack Tracks dangerous relies on his momentum. He may not be a flier, but he's still fast. We've seen this guy cross the whole ring in the blink of an eye and drop a man with a high speed elbow or kick. Flatten one of those tires, and the King of the Road can only putter forward."
"Wow, that's...very analytical of you. And rare for Scally to come up with a gameplan like that. After his recent string of loses, he may be taking a more measured approach. But even still, we know that there is much more to what makes Tracks dangerous than just his speed. I wonder if AJ has thought that far ahead?"
It's a good question, to be sure, and one even AJ may not entirely have an answer for. He seems pretty satisfied with how this particular strategy is going, and decides to make a more solid blow on the kneeling Tracks. Once more he bounces to the ropes, and books it on the way back. The Cruiserweight comes charging back, and ducks his head down, before lunging forward, shooting out a Spear at the half-downed foe. Hs body flies forth, and it makes contact...but not with what he planned to hit. At seeing Scaly going for the follow up, Tracks had to think and react quick. Which he did. Jack swerved his upper body quickly to the side, and Scally began to sail right over the right, non-harmed knee. With precise timing, Tracks bring a hard elbow down, slamming right down on Scally's spine. A shout of pain is followed by a cutoff of breath, as the impact of the elbow drives Scally's stomach into the tip of the knee, a brutal pincer attack stopping his momentum.
With his foe's offense stopped for the moment, Tracks pushes the doubled over AJ off of his knee, and begins to stand. The blow was quite painful, making the high flyer hold one arm over his stomach, and the other holding his back. He was squirming a bit too much6 for Tracks' taste, however, and the King of the Road rolls Scally onto his stomach and drops his good knee on the same spot he had elbowed before in rapid succession, making sure the speedy prey of his stayed down.
"I thought something like this might happen. We see Jack Tracks usually going for his high speed offense to start a match off, and gradually switch over to a more precise style as the fight drags on, but with the option of speed not being as readily available, it looks like he'll be using that more surgical approach of his right from the start."
"He's even got that look on his face already. Usually he's having more fun out there. But I guess after that loss to Hayden Hardkore last week, Tracks has got to go more seriously this week to get back on...well....Track."
While the commentators were analyzing Tracks' approach, the man had moved on to the next stage of his attack. Standing over the cringing AJ, Tracks lowered his stance, and placed his good foot on the man's back. Showing some limberness, he reaches down with both hands and clasps his fingers under Scally's chin...and PULLS! The higher angle Tracks stands at lets him pull back all the harder, to the point where Scally's spine is nearly going 90 degrees up! He starts to scream, as the ref gets into position to ask for a submission.
"Oh man, that looks bad! I've never seen a hold like that before. Some kind of...standing Camel Clutch?"
"Man, it hurts just looking at it! AJ's lucky he's as flexible as he is. I don't think my back would stand more than a second of that!"
"Even still, even someone like Scally can only stay in a hold like that so long. Think he can get out?"
"For his sake, I sure hope so. Or we could see a man ripped right in half! That'd get the crowd going, no question!"
