"Mt. Diablo" by The Story So Far heralds the entrance of Joshua Vandiver as it hits the crystal-clear P/A system, blasting the drums and guitars throughout the arena as the superstar emerges on the stage. He wears the new 'Support' shirt he had designed and printed, and a scarce number of people in the audience have purchased and dawned the new merchandise. A scowl is across his visage, a visual representation of how he is not pleased following the results of the previous week's main event. He shakes his limbs out, loosening himself up for the submission match he's about to take part in, before taking his first steps down the ramp.
"Everything about you is somebody else...
You're a product of environment and middle class wealth...
And sleeping that much won't improve your health,
Your interest in me is like dust on the shelf!"
"Easy to brush off, despite your mood...
Call me a liar, I'll show you a fake!
My old man told me to think on my own...
And I'm sure that's your biggest mistake!"
"Joshua Vandiver's face says it all, folks. One week ago on Triumph, he teamed up with long-time friend Wolverina to take on Scally and Kahlan. Vandiver explained that he was not at all pleased with the Tower of London competitors, and demanded Kahlan's spot. But AJ Scally had some choice words for Wolverina and Joshua. Eventually, though, the match simply boiled down to this."
"Do you look yourself straight in the eyes,
And think about who you let between your thighs?
Cut the shit! Be real with me!
You're the only one I ever fucking judge!
The one who came to school every day...
Woke up for the world, practiced honesty...
Her business was hers."
The camera cuts from Vandiver's entrance on the hardened steel of the inclined aisle to the squared circle from one week prior.
The Australian superstar, AJ Scally, ducks under a lariat from Joshua. But the full impact of the roaring locomotive was felt by the referee, who Vandiver knocked down unintentionally. For a moment, the shock is surreal, as Joshua's face grows pale and his eyes widen as if ripped apart. He has little time to cry over spilled milk, though, as Scally connects with a discus elbow from behind, knocking him to the floor. Looking to take advantage of the situation, the People's Champion signals with a waving arm for a new arbiter to enter the fray. His request is fulfilled moments later, as the referee runs down the incline and into the ring. AJ releases ecstasy, his face forming a chelsea grin as he ascends to the top rope, looking for a moonsault, but his plans fail as the knuckles of the Queen of GHW are driven into the tender back of his knee. Seated on the top rope, the man formerly known as Dustin Delta kips himself up in order to opportunize. Wolverina, smiling, pats her friend on the back, which the referee recognizes as a tag, even though it could be noted, if one looked closer, that she was not actually holding the tag rope. Regardless of the unintentional tag, Wolfie is brought into the confines of the ropes as Kahlan Clarkson attacks with an arm drag, bringing the Christian Cutie into the ring. Meanwhile, Joshua draws the left arm of AJ around the Aussie's neck and pulls the right arm down to his crotch like a pump-handle lock. Looking out into the audience, the New GodKing annunciates:
"WELCOME TO THE SNAKE PIT!"
And with an authoritative force, jumps off the top rope with AJ, turning him over onto his head and planting his scalp on the canvas with the Vandiver Driver II. The audience provides a mild positive response, but they seem perplexed as the Valhalla native tries to assist the original referee up. The new zebrashirt would help, but he's focused on the brawl ensuing between Kahlan and Wolfie, for some reason, it has not sunk in on him that AJ and Kahlan had never tagged each other in. In control, the Nebraskan goes for Goodness Gracious, her infamously powerful Superkick! But the sly Ladder Queen ducks under the leg of her adversary, and rotates in a full circle before thrusting her heel into the jawline of the former Queen of the Deathmatch, combining her own Ushirogiri signature kick with a parody of 'Goodness Gracious'! The crowd, with their collective jaws on the floor, watches as Clarkson pins Wolfie. Simultaneously, Vandiver pins down the wrists of Scally, the original referee counting this pinall, while the new official counts Kahlan's.
"1!"
"2!"
"3!"
The capacity crowd is as confused as the two officials are when they notice the other holding another competitor's hand up. The two zebra-shirted employees begin to argue while Kahlan celebrates, and Joshua, concerned, checks on his friend and partner in Wolverina.
Now, as the feed resumes in the GHW Arena, Joshua Vandiver is already in the ring as "Mt. Diablo" slowly fades out, considering that the very vocal superstar in the squared circle, ready for his match with the 'loser' he wants to murder.
