The scene opens backstage on Triumph after the 6-man tag match between Vince Vegas and The Logging Crew vs The Legion and that other guy. Charlie Coors, dressed in his favorite Kiss Army t-shirt, tan corduroy pants and black converse high top shoes, stands timidly outside a dressing room door. Coors nervously takes a deep breath as the camera pans to the nameplate on the door: "Vicious" Vince Vegas. The last time Charlie interviewed the self absorbed technician, he was warned that if he showed up smelling like the back of a Willie Nelson tour bus again, he would be the next victim of the Nevada Drop and Charlie had just blazed a bowl before GHW management told him he needed to interview Vegas. As he slowly pushes the open, he thanks god he smoked the homegrown bud given to him by a fan, and not the potent, hydroponic Maui Wowie that he has hidden in his underwear drawer. The door is only opened a crack when the camera catches a quick glimpse of a tin garbage can propelling across the room.
Charlie exhales as he enters the room to find "Vicious" Vince Vegas, still in his wrestling attire, with a towel around his neck, trashing his dressing room in a tantrum bringing to mind a small child being refused an Oh Henry at a grocery store checkout. Coors nervously begings to speak,
"Excuse me, Vince, It's Charlie Coors, we have an interview scheduled. Can I have a moment?"
Vince shoots a glare at Coors that would make a pit bull turn tail and run, but Coors, still under the effect of the freshly blazed ganja, doesn't catch on the to social cue and continues with his interview.
"You've been on quite a roll since Blood Runs Cold, and just had another win here tonight. What do you have to be so angry about?"
What a silly question to ask a man with a perpetual chip on his shoulder. Perhaps he is angered because Jerry Nate incinerated his prized possession live on his own show; Maybe he is infuriated by Joshua Vandiver's comments about not being special, which hit close to home; It could be that Vince is maddened by the look of contempt in the eyes of Cletus the Lumberjack during their match earlier in the night; Conceivably , the anger maybe due to underlying psychological issues stemming from his childhood; But maybe, just maybe, Vince is simply an asshole.
Vince pulls the towel from around his neck and throws it on the floor.
"You want to know why I'm so angry Chuck? You really want to know?"
Charlie Coors swallows loudly, rethinking his question,
"Well, yes, but if you don't want..."
"Lies."
"Lies? What lies are you talking about?"
"Since I arrived here in November, GHW management has been trying to get me to stay in character, Kayfabe my relationships with other Fighty fighty persons, to try to save the integrity of the show. Teaming me up with The Logging Crew like we are supposed to be good buddies. But I am sick of the LIES!
Vince take several deep breaths trying to regain his composure and begins talking a bit softer.
It's time we cleared the air, isn't it Cletus? We've known each other for a long time, way back we were both up and coming on the scene in Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling. I've hated that grimy bastard long before he ever touted a pair of overalls and decided to call himself a lumberjack. You say all the right things Cletus, and as a team, we even came out on top, but you think I didn't see the look in your eyes? You think I didn't realize your ax would have been in my back if you hadn't needed me to beat The Legion? I don't know where you found "Big Jim", but do you tell him the same lies you told to Tommy "The Cook" Gillespie?
For those of you who don't know, let me take you on a trip down memory lane. Cletus and Tommy "The Cook" were a forceful tag team, just as the Logging Crew is today, but when Tommy started to find success as a singles competitor, lust and envy flowed through Cletus faster than the Hermits wine flows down his throat. His words spoke of brotherhood and solidarity, but inside he burned with jealousy. But, being the coward that he is, Cletus didn't say a word, he just fixated and brewed in silence until the night Tommy finally won a singles championship with Cletus in his corner. When he turned around to hug his teammate and celebrate his accomplishment, he was met with a barrage of steel chair shots to the skull, leaving his "brother" in a pool of his own blood.
What happens if Big Jim win the Tower of London match, Cletus? Can you handle being second fiddle yet again?
Don't turn your back Jim, because the man who says he loves you like a brother might turn you belly up.
Harsh words. Back to you Colin.
