((OOC: Quick Note. Just to avoid ANY idea of favoritism or self promotion, Vladimir Strife will not be included in the rankings.))
As the clip comes in, "The Hitlist" is displayed proudly and boldly for all to see, showing yet another new name to GHW's top 10 list.
It cuts to Vladimir Strife, his arm bandaged to his side and his ribs tightly wrapped.
"Hello there, boys and girls. Welcome to the first edition of 'The Hitlist', a top 10 of who's who in the Gods and Heretics roster. As of late, we've had a bit of problems with show hosts and so for this week, the list has been designed and brought to you by none other than someone who knows a thing or two about who is who... Vladimir freaking Strife."
"So, let's begin the show with #10, save the best for last. Number 10 this week is actually a tag team. Black Skull to be precise. Since his return to GHW, Black Dragon has stopped at NOTHING to make himself heard and now having shocked everyone by bringing Skull back, the two men have effectively reunited as a tag team that may very well have the experience and desire to become our next champions."
"Number 9 this week is one crazy bastard. A man who actually put me in these bandages. That's right... Matthew Oliveira. Having made shockwaves lately with our fighting, Matt has kept himself in the eyes of the fan and on the lips of everyone. After our brutal match Sunday, Matt has definitely earned a spot on the list. He hasn't been the busiest, but he may have just been the bloodiest."
"Rolling on, straight to eight, we're looking at yet ANOTHER pain in my ass. The incomparable Human Wreckingball. Wreckingball may have found an early trip back in the Dictator's Rules match, but he has been quite vocal around GHW lately, making sure as always that the fans know exactly where he is coming from. In a daring move, shortly before Rhaps' retirement, Rhaps and Wreckingball called out the tag team champions, stating that their reign had gone unchecked for far too long. Now that Rhaps is gone though, I personally have to wonder if this is game over or if the fan favorite Metal Warrior has something else... or someone else.. in mind."
"Now, lucky number 7! This honor goes to a man who put the entire lockerroom on notice at Dawn Of Destruction. Wonderboy Scotty Dreamer, who dominated the competition and took home his first victory in months by defeated Anthony Luciano, Ravel Draken, Black Dragon and tag champ Desperado to gain the coveted Pirate clause in his contract. This allows him to jump ship to Saturday Night Decimation at any time during his Wednesday Night Genesis contract."
"Number six goes to someone who has made quite possibly the biggest impact in GHW as of lately... Hayden Hardkore. Blackmailing his fiance and then Emblem and putting Emblem's entire career into jeopardy. Now, these may not be the most gracious or friendly moves, but Hayden has definitely gained attention and love him or hate him, the people are tuning in to see him."
"That brings us to the mid of out list, number 5 himself... well, herself. Coming in at 3rd place in the highly competitive Dictator's Rules match, the ever controversial Asari Hokuto sealed a slot on the list instantly. Of course, knocking The Psycho Kid out cold afterwards and denouncing the Slam Jam Nation didn't hurt her spot either. I can say from experience that this is one tough fortune cookie and she won't stop at anything until her name is highlighted in the biggest lights and she establishes herself at the top of the foodchain."
"Speaking of the top of the food chain... number four is a long time heavy hitter, the Future himself. Jake Diamond has returned and he's not missed a beat. Since his return, Jake beat Alex Stall in his final match at Fighty fighty person Appreciation Night and now has topped Cosmos in order to gain his chance at the Charging Glory title. With Rhaps gone from GHW, his chances may have just got a hell of a lot better."
"Rounding up the list to the Top 3, our next person is no stranger to danger. Gnarfflinger the Butcher, the veteran madman, claws, bites, and scratches his way to number 3 following his BRUTAL participation in the DR, making his way to the end and the GHW television title left just BARELY out of his grasp. The right hook cook may have had some bad luck around the company lately, but following that match, I think the tables have turned. Is the old butcher back or is the old dog out of new tricks? Let's hope destruction hasn't lost it's place."
"And second place... as odd as this may sound.. isn't a GHW Fighty fighty person... not technically anyhow. Our second place honor goes to the impulsive Emblem. Despite recently coming under scrutiny for some legal issues, this is a man who has given it his all lately, realizing his dreams of becoming a champion and a major name in wrestling. Whether legal or not, he's a hell of a Fighty fighty person and I'd be a fool to take him off of the list. Best of luck, Emblem and whether or not we've been close, I hope to see you back as soon as we can and I know these fans agree whole-heartedly."
"Just a quick recap before we announce this week's number one...
At number 10 is the veteran tag, Black Skull, who have made waves with their recent return.
Number 9 shows us the Hardcore Genius, Matthew Oliveira, the King Of The Deathmatch champion.
Number 8 is the Metal Warrior, Human Wreckingball.
At number 7 this week, up and coming Slam Jammer Scotty Dreamer, who tossed his opponents in the rumble like a bad salad!
Number 6 is the hated blackmailer Hayden Hardkore. Maybe not a fan favorite, but his impact is undeniable.
Give a handful of fingers to Asari Hokuto, our #5 and the most dominant woman in GHW history.
The Future shines at #4, Jake Diamond reminding everyone that he is the past present and of course... the future.
Our top 3 begins with Gnarfflinger the Butcher, a hardcore hardened veteran who proves he can still get the job done.
Number 2 is none other than the hottest story in GHW currently, the impulsive Emblem.
And this brings us to #1....
One man has stood out amongst the rest lately, proving that cream always rises to the top. The winner of the second Dictator's Rules match and the first ever GHW Television Champion... The Psycho Kid. After a long run in GHW, the Asylum resident has finally captured gold and proven that he is a true champion and a survivor. Congratulations to TPK and everyone on the list."
~~~~ OOC~~~~
As an added bonus, I also bring to you a top 3 RP's of the week.
#3 - Career at a crossroads by Metal Dragon
Excellent promo, a good read and a good turning point for this character.
#2 - 'Twilight' by Emblem
Another EXCELLENT promo, quite a bit of feeling to this one and it really sucks you into this ongoing storyline.
#1 - A Troubled Soul... by Human Wreckingball
This promo was one of the best I've ever read. It REALLY had a ton of emotion to it and in a lot of ways, was a shoot promo. You could tell just reading it that a lot of it came from the heart and it made for an amazing read.
So, thanks to EVERYONE for their contributions, even if they didn't make the list and I can't wait to do the next and see if anyone can top these promos or make their way into or up the list.
