Monday Night Combat (4/2/07): What's your Damage?
SERGEANT
1. Debut Match
Velocity v. Maddogg (Single-docs)
Winner: Maddogg
Match Hype: Velocity will make his debut against Maddogg tonight. Maddogg will be a tall order for Velocity to overcome, but making a name for yourself in this business doesn't come easy.
2. Stipulation Tag Match
Hawkeye and Chemodeus v. Gnarfflinger and Billy Styles
Winners: Gnarfflinger and Billy Styles
Match Hype: It is no secret that Hawkeye and Gnarfflinger have ill feelings toward each other, and the same can be said about Chemodeus and Billy Styles. If Chemodeus' tag team wins this match, Chemodeus will choose Billy Styles' opponent next week in a #1 Contender match for the Sergeant Championship. If Billy Styles' team wins this match, Billy will get his Sergeant Title rematch at World Warz.
LIEUTENANT
1. WildMan Rambo v. Human Wreckingball (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Human Wreckingball
Match Hype: Are WildMan and HW friends or enemies? Their cordial interlude in the ring last week leaves that question to be answered still. If WildMan manages to defeat HW, the two will form a tag team. If HW wins, they will not tag together and it's anybody's guess what will happen next.
2. Mike Lethal v. Wrestling God (Table-docs)
Winner: Mike Lethal
Match Hype: Mike Lethal's dominance hit a brick wall named Stevie Rock last week in round 1 action of Damage Control. Never fear though, Mike will build himself up to get in the title hunt again soon, but he will have to go through Wrestling God in a tables match first.
3. Damage Control
Stevie Rock 2 v. Duece (Single-2 staff of choice)
Winner: Stevie Rock 2
Match Hype: Damage Control picks up in round 2 when Stevie Rock faces Duece. Both used smart strategies to win their first round matches, and we'll have to see if they change or keep their strategies the same in this exciting match.
4. Damage Control
Mighty John Quinn v. Malcriado Beast (Single-2 staff of choice)
Winner: Malcriado Beast
Match Hype: Mighty John Quinn kept his undefeated streak in tact last week in round 1 of Damage Control when he not only defeated DarkLight, but sent him into retirement for good. MJQ's next opponent should be a bit tentative in this match, but then again, we're talking about Malcriado Beast here.
CAPTAIN
1. Damage Control
Bigguns88 v. DM Punk (Single-2 staff of choice)
Winner: Bigguns88
Match Hype: Bigguns is on his quest to regain the Captain Championship, but he will have to outsmart and outwrestle DM Punk first. Who will control their damage in this one?
2. Damage Control
Skull v. King Bear (Single-2 staff of choice)
Winner: King Bear
Match Hype: Skull needs to win the Damage Control Tournament. He's been around for a while now, and has not gotten a Title shot yet. He won a convincing match against NochdFaol last week, but the pressure only gets thicker as one advances rounds. King Bear isn't a pushover.
3. Non-Title Match
trickshot v. I Always Lose (Cage-docs)
Winner: I Always Lose
Match Hype: Captain trickshot has not been very successful in matches since winning the Captain Championship. Some say he might have Hawkeye syndrome, while others think his Title win was a fluke. trickshot will try to silence the critics when he faces I Always Lose this week.
COLONEL
1. Damage Control
Raju_The_Bomber v. Smart Rocket (Single-2 staff of choice)
Winner: Raju_The_Bomber
Match Hype: Raju has been steady and consistent since joining GHW, but needs to step that up a notch in order to become great. He has it in him, and time will tell if he lets it all out to become successful. Smart Rocket is a former champion looking to prove that he's ready in the Colonel Division. Scary things can happen when SR is on his game.
2. Damage Control
The Masterpiece 3 v. Rock II (Single-2 staff of choice)
Winner: The Masterpiece 3
Match Hype: Dirk will get his hands on Rock II in round 2 action of Damage Control. Since ending his feud with Zantazm at Total Carnage, Dirk has turned his sights on becoming the Colonel Champion. Will Dirk realize this dream?
GENERAL
1. Lt. Commander Worf v. Zantazm (Cage-docs)
Winner: Lt. Commander Worf
Match Hype: Tai and Zantazm have not fought in a while, but the two have a storied history in the Colonel Division. Both are Generals now and it's a whole new ballgame. Someday these two may be future General Champions.
2. BLACK WOLF 1 v. TC Carroll (Ladder-docs)
Winner: BLACK WOLF 1
Match Hype: BLACK WOLF finally met her match when she fought DMD last week. Although DMD was victorious, BLACK WOLF is proving that she can hang with the best in the General Division. She will face TC this week after defeating him a few weeks ago. Can TC get revenge?
TAG TEAM
1. Bronze Tag Team Championship Rematch
Punk and Hyperion (c) v. Latin Attack
Winners and STILL Bronze Tag Team Champs: Punk and Hyperion
Match Hype: Latin Attack won a huge triple threat tag match on Surge to show that they are a tag team worth recognizing. They will get their Bronze Tag Team Title rematch tonight against the team they chose to face them at Total Carnage. Hyperion and DM Punk have been resting as of late, so it will be interesting to see if they are ready. Can Latin Attack become 2-time Bronze Champs?
