Monday Night Combat (2/4/08): Poison Kills
LIEUTENANT
1. Pyscho Savage v. Truco (Cage-docs)
Winner: Truco
Notes: To kick off Combat, Truco and some Pyscho Savage are going to battle in a cage. Both can't obviously fight with ladders, so I figure an enclosed pen would suit them better.
2. Ladder Tournament
Harold the Pretzel Man v. Saton (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Harold the Pretzel Man
Notes: GHW's number one vendor will take on a Superstar who is aligned with the man downstairs. Saton may have gotten the BYE in round 1, but that means little when he has salted snacks being thrown at him.
3. Ladder Tournament
Genesis 1 v. ForSakeN (Ladder-docs)
Winner: ForSakeN
Notes: Genesis got recently promoted and looked good last week in round 1. Tonight he'll get the winner of Forsaken and Ultimate Gene. I have no punchline for this match.
4. Ladder Tournament
S1ckem v. The Killer Animal (Ladder-docs)
Winner: The Killer Animal
Notes: Sic'em! Go get him, dog! The Killer Animal takes on S1ckem in a second round match. I hope this turns into a dog fight, or I might just change the channel.
CAPTAIN
1. Non-Title Match
Terremoto v. Skull (Single-docs)
Winner: Terremoto
Notes: Skull can't win matches that aren't PPVs, so I figure why not watch him get sat on by the biggest Superstar in GHW?
2. Pick Your Poison
Untamed Beast (2 coaches) v. Will Powers (2 coaches) (LMS)
Winner: Untamed Beast
Notes: There is a lot of poison that needs to be picked in this match, but we know Untamed Beast will take on Will Powers. Some one wake me up before this one starts.
3. Pick Your Poison
Chad J0hns0n (docs) v. The Immortal Mortal (1 coach/1doc) (Chad picks match)
Winner: The Immortal Mortal
Notes: Chad J0hns0n is football's great wide receiver, but this is frickin wrestling. He'll get to pick this match type, have docs in his corner and hopefully get some luck. I'd hate to fight a guy who can't figure out if he's dead or alive or lives forever or can't die, or is human or not human....you get my point.
COLONEL
1. trickshot v. Matthew Oliveira (Single-docs)
Winner: trickshot
Notes: trickshot got the snot beat out of him last week, and I personally enjoyed it. He suffered the death sentence, and now gets to take on the newly promoted Matthew Oliveira. Maybe Matt will knock whatever's left of him out.
2. Non-Title Match
Raju_The_Bomber v. Big Closet (Table-docs)
Winner: Raju_The_Bomber
Notes: My favorite Champion will take on Big Closet in a tables match tonight. Big Closet got destroyed by HawkEye last week in a LMS, and I'm sure Raju will be able to deliver some more fatal wounds tonight.
3. Death Sentence Tournament
Lone Wolf v. Big Daddy (Cage-no staff)
Winner: Big Daddy
Notes: A new GHW Superstar, Lone Wolf, enters my Death Sentence Tournament against the lethal Big Daddy. A cage will wrap these two together and no one will be there to help them when it's all said and done. I just got shivers down my spine, and enjoyed it.
GENERAL
1. Handicap Match
Zantazm v. Original Gangstas (docs)
Winner: Zantazm
Notes: The former GM and fading star will get another dose of reality tonight when he takes on the Gold Tag Team Champs in a handicap match. I am going to make sure Zantazm doesn't last past Dawn of Destruction.
2. Ladder Tournament Match
I Always Lose v. The Overtaker (Ladder-docs)
Winner: I Always Lose
Notes: I Always Lose is a liar because he does win matches. He takes on The Overtaker tonight in round 2 ladder action, and I'm hoping someone takes a tumble from the top of the ladder so I can see some pain.
3. Ladder Tournament Match
y2000j v. Rock II (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Rock II
Notes: y2000j beat Zantazm last week, and that's enough for me to endorse him to win this Tournament. If Rock II wins, then he will be the next General Champ. Either way, it doesn't matter to me.
TAG TEAM
1. Bronze Tag Tournament
Devils with Attitude v. Legends Running Riot (docs)
Winner: Legends Running Riot
Notes: A couple of so-called legends will be running riot in this first round tournament match against a couple of devils with attitude. I guess I'm a GM without a sense-of-humor because I want both of these teams to lose.
2. Bronze Tag Tournament
Fairy Warriors v. Wild Demons (docs)
Winner: Fairy Warriors
Notes: Fairy Warriors return to action tonight, but I'm not sure why because fairies aren't warriors, they're wimps. The Wild Demons will face them, and hopefully put an end to their nonsense.
3. Silver Tag Tournament
Blood Brothers v. Crash N Splash (docs)
Winner: Blood Brothers
Notes: Crash, splash and johnny cash. Not sure what CNS stands for, but they'll take on the notorious Blood Brothers in a tourney match tonight. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
4. Gold Tag Tournament
Top Gunz v. The Devil's Advocates (docs)
Winner: Top Gunz
Notes: If Zantazm has anything left after facing Original Gangstas, then he will join his partner to take on The Devil's Advocates. I'm interested in this new tag team and I'm hoping they lay down a beating.
5. Gold Tag Tournament
Lords of the Ham v. NSA (docs)
Winner: NSA
Notes: Lords of the Ham will face the former Silver Champs NSA. NSA is a team that is inspiring, and I hope they keep winning in their new division.
