Monday Night Combat (10/13/08): Meet Your Foe
LIEUTENANT
1. Handicap Match
Marcus Airbourne v. Brutal Thugs (docs)
Winner: Marcus Airbourne
Notes: Marcus Airbourne had a bad last week, and he's looking to make things right tonight. After being paired with Jokin Jasper Donovan in a tag match against Brutal Thugs last week, Marcus became very angry after he claimed Jasper cost them the win. He has asked to face Brutal Thugs in Handicap action, and that's exactly what he's gonna get.
2. Hardcore Handicap Match
RhinoMan v. Ultimate Gene/Tito Ortiz (1-1-1)
Winner: Ultimate Gene/Tito Ortiz
Notes: Rhino may have his Money in the Bank Cash-In at GvH, but it will be like going through the motion for the Lieutenant Champion as Rhino goes down in defeat. Tonight, I've decided to put Rhino through hell as he will face the Lt. Champ Ultimate Gene and Tito Ortiz in a hardcore handicap match. Rhino doesn't have the guts to survive this one.
3. Lieutenant Gauntlet
ForSakeN v. John The Crusher (Single-docs)
Winner: John The Crusher
Notes: ForSakeN proved to be too much for the strong rookie Marcus Airbourne on Mayhem and now has to face John the Crusher in the Gauntlet. Can FSN clinch the Gauntlet and become the #1 contender, or will the fully rested JTC swoop in and grab this huge opportunity?
CAPTAIN
1. Dyna Mike Duncan v. Samoa Machine (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Dyna Mike Duncan
Notes: My friend, Mike Duncan, is emerging as a leading candidate to fight for the Captain X-Force Championship at Gods v. Heretics, as he has taken care of his competition lately, and backed it up with his words in the ring. Tonight he takes on Samoa Machine in a ladder match to pad his stats.
2. Non-Title Match
Will Powers v. Malcriado Beast (Table-docs)
Winner: Will Powers
Notes: Will Powers has had his share of wins and losses this month as his consistency may be an issue for him. He takes on the Latin Beast, MB, tonight in a table match, and he'll look to make something of this match to propel some positive momentum.
3. LMS Tournament Finale
JH777 v. Tommy Musashi (LMS-docs)
Winner: JH777
Notes: Tommy Musashi is shining bright this month, and only one more obstacle stands in his way to get to the promised land. JH is coming off a BYE in the LMS Semi-Finals, so he definitely has more rest. This will come down to who wants it the most, and right now, it's hard to bet against the surging Musashi.
COLONEL
1. The Irishman v. HawkEye (Cage-docs)
Winner: HawkEye by default
Notes: The Irishman and Sergei Kravinoff have made bids to be in the Colonel X-Force Championship bout at Gods v. Heretics, so I'm going to put both of them to the test tonight. The Irishman will face HawkEye in a cage match, and heck, maybe HawkEye will make a case for himself if he can emerge victorious.
2. Non-Title Match
Untamed Beast v. Sergei Kravinoff (Cage-docs)
Winner: Untamed Beast
Notes: The Colonel Champion UB faces Sergei Kravinoff inside a steel cage, and if Sergei can win, he arguably deserves a shot at the Colonel X-Force Title at this month's PPV. I know what Sergei is capable of, and his words recently echo his ability.
3. Friend or Foe Finale
ValKyrie KD v. Luther (Single-docs)
Winner: ValKyrie KD
Notes: Kelly Duncan and Luther made it to the Friend or Foe Finale together, but now they must go their separate ways and fight each other for the #1 contendership. This Bulldog's clash is going to be a fight of the year as friends become foes.
GENERAL
1. Big Daddy v. CHARISMATIC HARDY (Table-docs)
Winner: CHARISMATIC HARDY
Notes: Big Daddy was victorious in his triumphant return on Friday Night Mayhem last week over Big Closet. Now he faces another Latino when he takes on El Colombiano in a table match. CH is looking for a big win to get his game on track for the big Latino Rumble at Gods v. Heretics and Big Daddy wants to reclaim his spot at the top of the federation.
2. Psycho Savage v. Muhammad Hassan (Single-docs)
Winner: Muhammad Hassan
Notes: Because I can, I am pitting Friend or Foe semi-finalists Psycho Savage and Muhammad Hassan against each other tonight to find out who would have won had they made it to the Finals. This duo surprised many this month with their great performances, but now it's time to find out who is the weakest link.
3. Friend or Foe Finale
Pennylane v. frog man (Single-docs)
Winner: frog man
Notes: Pennylane had no choice to accept his new tag team partner last week, frog man, as he faced off against Psycho Savage and Jake Steele in the Friend or Foe semi-final. The two were successful however, and now must turn on each other for one common goal, the #1 contendership for the General Title. frog man may finally reach a main even slot, but Pennylane is on a roll and nobody looks to stop him.
TAG TEAM
1. #1 Contender Qualifier Match
Hawkeye and Skull v. ReVamped (docs)
Winner: ReVamped
Notes: All of the Gold Tag Division teams will be paired off tonight to qualify for a #1 contender match next week on Combat. In the first match, HawkEye and Skull take on ReVamped. H and S have looked good so far in their return, but will they be able to coexist in the long run?
2. #1 Contender Qualifier Match
Under the Influence v. Wild Closet (docs)
Winner: Under the Influence
Notes: Under the Influece will take on the winless, Wild Closet, in a #1 contender qualifier match tonight. The winner will take on 2 other teams next week for a chance to face the Gold Champs Bulldog Savages at Gods v. Heretics.
3. #1 Contender Qualifier Match
Untamed Irishman v. Lost Cause (docs)
Winner: Lost Cause by default
Notes: Lost Cause desperately wants the Gold Tag Team Titles, and tonight they will take their first step to realize that dream....if they can defeat Untamed Irishman. This match features a lot of strong talent, but only one team is hungrier than the other.
