Monday Night Combat (12/15/08): Fit for Battle
LIEUTENANT
1. Kahlan v. trickshot (Ladder-docs)
Winner: trickshot
Notes: Kahlan hasn't had things go her way in her last two matches, but tonight she gets to face the current #1 contender, trickshot, in her favorite match. Can Kahlan rebound and put a huge win on her record?
2. Non-Title Street Fight
Marcus Airbourne v. RhinoMan (Single-1-1-1)
Winner: Marcus Airbourne
Notes: RhinoMan could be the one fired this upcoming Sunday, but odds are he won't be able to outlast his friends in that match. For fun, I'm going to make his life hell by putting him in a street fight against X-Force Champion Marcus Airbourne tonight.
3. Final Survival of the Fittest Rumble
Eric The Torture v. The Master v. Destroyer v. The Ultimate Kid (docs)
Winner: The Master
Notes: Eric the Torture, The Master, Destroyer and UK are the final participants in the last Survival of the Fittest Rumble for the Lieutenants. The winner will face trickshot on Friday for a chance to go to Blood Runs Cold to face Lieutenant Champion Tito Ortiz. The losers can consider themselves unfit for such an opportunity.
CAPTAIN
1. #1 Contender for X-Force Title
The Heartbreak Kid v. Tommy Musashi (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Tommy Musashi
Notes: Tommy Musashi was runner-up in the Cage Competition this month and The Heartbreak Kid is a future star. Why not let the two fight it out to earn a PPV appearance against Captain X-Force Champion, Lunchtime Legend?
2. Non-Title Match
Samoa Machine v. HaydenHardKore (Table-docs)
Winner: Samoa Machine
Notes: Samoa Machine and The Grammar Fairy have a date with a few tables tonight, but only one of them will actually get to set them and then destroy them.
COLONEL
1. Non-Title Match
Sergei Kravinoff v. Euroman (LMS-docs)
Winner: Sergei Kravinoff
Notes: Colonel X-Force Champ Sergei will face Colonel Champ DMD at Blood Runs Cold in a Hell in a Cell match. Tonight, I'm going to tune up both champs with a separate cage match. Sergei will get to face Euroman, while Mike Duncan gets HawkEye.
2. Non-Title Match
Dyna Mike Duncan v. HawkEye (Cage-docs)
Winner: Dyna Mike Duncan
Notes: Dyna Mike Duncan is gunning for the Colonel X-Force Championship, and he'll be able to take home that title if he can defeat Sergei Kravinoff on Sunday in a Hell in a Cell. Tonight his warm-up will be HawkEye.
GENERAL
1. Falling Angel v. Angelus (Table-docs)
Winner: Angelus
Notes: Falling Angel lost in her debut last week against Gnarff the Butcher, but she's not going to have time to hang her head. Tonight she faces Angelus in a table match in hopes to earn her first victory.
2. Psycho Savage v. Gnarfflinger (Cage-docs)
No Contest
Notes: Psycho Savage will meet Gnarfflinger inside a steel cage, and I'm sure there will be some other weapons involved as well. PS needs to start racking up some wins so that he can take 2009 by storm.
3. Non-Title Match
Slim Shady v. frog man (Ladder-docs)
Winner: frog man
Notes: In a rematch from Salvation, former General Champ frog man will take on Slim Shady in a ladder match. This is frog man's chance to weaken Slim before he defends his Title this Sunday...or at least get an ounce of revenge.
4. Final Survival of the Fittest Rumble
CHARISMATIC HARDY v. Muhammad Hassan v. ValKyrie KD v. Backyard Brawler 2 v. StrikerLT (docs)
Winner: CHARISMATIC HARDY
Notes: The Final Survival of the Fittest Rumble in the General Division features five very strong and worthy Superstars. Only one of them will emerge the winner and will take on Big Daddy on Friday for the #1 contendership. Who will show that he/she is the cream of the crop?
TAG TEAM
1. Debut Match
Reality Check v. Height of Impact (docs)
Winner: Height of Impact
Notes: Height of Impact will debut tonight against Reality Check in Bronze Tag Team action. They will try to have a more successful debut than Reality Check, who lost their debut last week. Which team will earn their first W?
2. Non-Title Debut Match
Brutal Thugs v. One Machine (docs)
Winner: Brutal Thugs
Notes: Brutal Thugs have had it easy as Bronze Tag Champs, but their days of bliss may be over. There are 3 new teams aiming for their belts, and one of them is One Machine. One Machine looks like an awesome team on paper, but we'll find out if they can hang in the ring after tonight.
3. 6-man Rumble for the Gold Tag Team #1 Contendership
Bulldog Savages (Sergei Kravinoff) v. Catastrophic Duo (Big Closet) v. Dark Bulldogs (Luther) v. Lost Cause (I Always Lose) v. ReVamped (Matthew Oliveira) v. Elitist Club (Pennylane) (docs)
Winner: Pennylane (Elitist Club)
Notes: Did you think that I would have only one-half of each Gold Tag Team decide the team's fate for the #1 contendership? If you did, you're way off base. Tonight, the other half of each Gold Tag Team that didn't fight in Friday Night Mayhem's big rumble will throw down. StrikerLT won for ReVamped on Friday, which guarantees them a #1 contender shot. If his partner, Matthew Oliveira, can win tonight, then ReVamped automatically goes to Blood Runs Cold. If he doesn't win, then one other lucky team will take on ReVamped on Mayhem. Let the Battle begin!
