* As the Anti-X Conference begins, Eric The Torture watches the Rhino Man and Martin Prince on the closed circuit television in his locker room. *
ETT: I'd better get out there and show my support for my fellow compatriots!
* ETT turns and walks out of the locker room, water bottle in hand. A few moments later, Pennylane, walking gingerly and with bruises and contusions on his face, enters the locker room and begins going through Eric's gym bag. *
Pennylane: C'mon, where are they? I know that he's got to keep some in here somewhere!
* Pennylane is digging deep into Eric's bag and is caught with his pants down when Eric walks back into the locker room. *
ETT: I'll save this water bottle for later - Pennylane?! What are you doing here?
* Pennylane's head snaps up, looking quite like the child with his hand in the cookie jar. *
ETT: Well? What the hell are you doing in here going through my stuff?
Pennylane: I was uh - I am in a lot of pain and was looking for some... aspirin.
ETT: Oh really?
Pennylane: Yeah, really!
* It is clear that ETT doesn't quite believe Pennylane's story from the look on his face. *
Pennylane: Look, you know what it's like - I'm hurting bad, man. Do you have any vicodin or something?
ETT: It's been weeks since you've been let out of the hospital. You shouldn't need any painkillers anymore. I know exactly how you feel - if you remember, you pulled my head out of a toilet, quite literally - can't you see you're clearly in the same boat as I am?
Pennylane: Don't get all sanctimonious on me! I remember quite clearly, but this is different! This is... this is...
* Pennylane looks at Eric, who is staring back at him, not judging him, just waiting for Pennylane to realize for himself what's happening. *
Pennylane: ... becoming an addiction.
ETT: Look, despite all we've been through, I think we both respect each other. I know I respect you, and I hope that the feeling is mutual. I've been off the stuff completely for the past week and a half, since I've been going to speak with a therapist. Why don't you start coming with me? I am scheduled to go see her tomorrow. I was further down the path than you are, I'm sure. Maybe we can get you off it before you head too far down it.
* ETT holds out his hand in a gesture of friendship. Pennylane regards it for a moment, then grabs it and shakes it. ETT smiles at him, then writes down some information on a sheet of nearby paper. He hands it to Pennylane. *
ETT: This is where I go. It's her name, number, and the location of her office. I will call her in the morning to let her know you're coming with me this time. I'll see you then?
* Pennylane nods. ETT puts his hand on his back and walks him out of the locker room. *
ETT: Come on, I'll buy you a drink.
