Nurse: "We have what seems to be a neck injury Doctor."
Doctor: "Alright, bring him in."
As the doctors look over the medical history of Dave Abernethy, medics bring him into a room. Barely conscious, Dave attempts to fend the men off, still believing he is in his match with Genocide.
They restrain Dave after a few moments, and the doctor walks in to check on his patient.
"Mr. Abernethy, can you hear my voice?
Dave attempts to speak but only lets out a few grunts, which sounds more like a dieing toad than the English language.
Dave attempts to sit up, but the singing pain from his neck spasms down throughout his spine, and forces him to fall back onto his fairly uncomfortable bed.
The doctor continues to check Dave, touching his neck softly feeling for anything out of the ordinary.
"Let's get this man into X-ray immediately."
As Dave finally goes unconsciouss the doctors roll him out of the room..
"Sir, can you understand me? If so wiggle your toes for me."
The feint voice of the nurse brings Dave back, as he feels a brace around his neck and his head feels like he got his skull caught in a pair of vice-grips. The nurse looks over the completed x-rays as Dave keeps his eyes closed and tries to open his mouth to respond, but nothing comes out.
"Don't try to talk, conserve your energy. The doctor will be with you shortly to explain what has happened."
Dave lays on his back, muttering sounds trying to strengthen his voice. The doctor enters a few minutes later, holding a clipboard with the prognosis attached to it.
"Mr.Abernethy, I regret to inform you that you have a severe concussion. Which saddens me to say, could be considered the good news. I reviewed what happened, and when your opponent in your 'wrestling' match landed on you, the impact actually cracked your neck around the c2 and c3 discs."
Dave forces his eyes to open, as he listens to the doctor. He finally musters the strength in his throat to speak.
"How.. long will I be out?.."
"Months, around three or four. I will not sign any waver for you to wrestle, but you can leave here with the brace by Friday. But know, you must stay in bed to prevent further injury"
Dave closes his eyes again, as he face turns blood red with anger. The doctor nods his head noticing Dave wants to be alone, and exits the room along with the nurse. Dave opens his eyes and tries to reach for the brace around his neck. After a few tries he finally does, and removes the brace slowly.
"Months.. my ass.."
