Monday Night Combat (3/23/09): Picking up the Shattered Pieces
LIEUTENANT
1. Damage Control
Dave Abernethy v. Genesis 1 (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: Genesis 1
Notes: Dave Abernethy gets to kick off Combat, debut in GHW, and fight in his first Tournament all in one match. His opponent will be a difficult one, however, as he takes on the unpredictable Genesis. Genesis has spent most of his time in a half-house last month, but he may be set free if he continues to progress. The goal of this match is not who wins, but who does the most damage.
2. Damage Control
Level One v. Genocide (Single-3 staff of choice)
No Contest
Notes: Level One and Genocide will be able to bring 3 staff of their choice to the ring with them tonight, but those staff won't be there to help them win. Those staff will help their Superstar inflict the most damage on the other. That is the key to Damage Control.
3. Damage Control
Prince Martini v. Ultimate Gene (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: Prince Martini
Notes: Prince Martini is coming off a helacious Singapore deathmatch last night at Total Carnage when he was defeated by Martin Prince. Will he have any strength whatsoever to inflict more damage on his opponent, Ultimate Gene, to win this match?
4. Non-Title Match
The Master v. Kahlan (Cage-docs)
No Contest
Notes: Billy Styles capped off another great month after defending his Title against Luke Kinkade last night at Total Carnage. Tonight he will face Kahlan, who is looking to earn a spot on Team UK this month at World Warz III.
CAPTAIN
1. Damage Control
RhinoMan v. Destroyer (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: Destroyer
Notes: Destroyer has been away for a few weeks at wrestling school to get back to the basics. All of that will be thrown out the window tonight though as the winner of this match is the one who inflicts the most damage on the other, not who gets the pinfall, submission or knockout. Can Destroyer return with a bang?
2. Damage Control
Torjio Kazukuni v. Tommy Musashi (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: Torjio Kazukuni
Notes: I find it amusing that I am pitting two Team Japan members against each other in round 1 action of Damage Control. Japan may have won World Warz II, but this month they will be defeated by Xantland. First though, they get to hurt each other in this month's Tournament where damage is the key to victory.
3. Damage Control
Marcus Airbourne v. The Ultimate Kid (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: Marcus Airbourne
Notes: Marcus was a bit quiet last month, but I assure you that he still has the fire burning inside of him. Tonight he will face The Ultimate Kid and the winner will be determined by who scores the most damage on the other. Choose your staff wisely.
COLONEL
1. Damage Control
Samoa Machine v. Malcriado Beast (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: Samoa Machine
Notes: Samoa Machine was teamed up against last night in his Triple Threat Captain X-Force Championship match, but he will re-emerge as a force in the Colonel Division. Tonight he takes on Malcriado Beast in a Damage Control match. Each Superstar brings 3 staff to ringside, and the one who deals the most damage on the other is going to be declared the winner.
2. Damage Control
Matthew Oliveira v. Lunchtime Legend (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: Lunchtime Legend
Notes: Lunchtime Legend came very close to earning a #1 contendership last month, but things didn't work out as he wanted them to. Now, he begins Damage Control action against Matthew Oliveira. The winner will be the one with the most damage dealt to his opponent.
GENERAL
1. Damage Control
HawkEye v. Big Closet (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: HawkEye
Notes: HawkEye may have won his Colonel Championship match last night, but I'm not going to let him rest. He was promoted after his defense, and now he gets to swim in an ocean of sharks in the General Division. His first opponent will be Big Closet and the theme will be Damage Control. Each Superstar gets 3 staff of choice in his corner, and the one who inflicts the most damage on the other in the match will be declared the victor.
2. Damage Control
The Impacter v. Sergei Kravinoff (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: The Impacter
Notes: Sergei Kravinoff made me and Xantland proud when he successfully defended his Colonel X-Force Championship last night at Total Carnage. Unfortunately, he was promoted to the General Division after the match. Now, he fights his first General Division match in the Damage Control Tournament.
3. Damage Control
Angelus v. I Always Lose (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: Angelus by default
Notes: Angelus needs to get back his dominant General Superstar form after a quiet month in March. He will take on I Always Lose in first round Damage Control action, and per the rules, the winner is the one who inflicts the most damage on his opponent.
4. Damage Control
Pennylane v. Slim Shady (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: Slim Shady
Notes: Pennylane somehow managed to survive the onslaught that was given to him by his temporary manager and booker, Black Dead, the past two weeks. Now he's got a new mean streak that is not to be taken lightly. Tonight he opens up Damage Control action against Slim Shady. Both Superstars get to bring 3 staff to ringside, and the goal is to deliver the most damage to the other.
TAG TEAM
1. Damage Control
FsN and MB v. The Battalion (3 staff of choice)
Winner: FsN and MB
Notes: For the first time ever, Damage Control will take place in the tag division ranks. FsN and MB will face The Battalion and each team can potentially have 6 staff ringside for their team, or 3 per tag partner. The goal will be to deal the most combined damage to the other team.
2. Damage Control
UK and the Asian v. Strength of the World (3 staff of choice)
Winner: UK and the Asian
Notes: One team will get their first win tonight, but it won't come in a traditional form. That is because the winner will be declared by the most damage dealt to the other, not via pin, submission or knockout. Each Superstar can bring 3 staff to the ring with them, and it could get out of Control.
3. Damage Control
Hardyhawk v. Hassan and Brawler (3 staff of choice)
Winner: Hardyhawk
Notes: Damage Control or Damage Infliction, it's your decision. The goal will be to do both, and the winner will be decided by how much damage is actually delivered to the other team combined. One of these teams will score their first victory ever.
4. Damage Control
Lost Cause v. ReVamped (3 staff of choice)
Winner: Lost Cause by default
Notes: Lost Cause used to be on top of their Gold Division, but ever since I created a few new teams, they've been lost in the shuffle. Tonight, they take on ReVamped in a Damage Control match, and it's going to be anything but boring.
