Friday Night Mayhem (3/27/09): Let the War Games Begin
HARDCORE
1. Future Talent Match
Cobrita v. JH777 (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Cobrita
Notes: Cobrita has yet to get his hands dirty in GHW, but the time has come for him to show off what he's got against JH777. JH debuted again last week on Mayhem, and he gets his second straight appearance on the show. Can he go 2-0?
LIEUTENANT
1. Damage Control
Martin Prince v. Luke Kinkade (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: Luke Kinkade
Notes: Martin Prince has had five days to rest since his brutal Singapore deathmatch with Prince Martini at Total Carnage and now he has to take on the former #1 contender, Luke Kinkade. Damage is key, so who's going to dish the most?
2. Damage Control
The Angel of Darkness v. trickshot (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: trickshot
Notes: AOD fell short on delivering in the Lieutenant X-Force Championship match at Total Carnage, and now he has to start at square one again. Tonight he takes on trickshot in Damage Control, and hopefully he takes out his anger on tricky.
3. Hardcore Match
Dave Abernethy v. Genocide (Single-1-1-1)
Winner: Genocide
Notes: Dave Abernethy wants to prove to his tag team partner, Genocide, that he is the better tag team partner. I gladly booked the match after giving Dave a warning about what may end up happening to his team. Hardcore rules will be in place for extra excitement.
4. Non-Title Match
YOUNG GANGSTA v. Rock II (LMS-docs)
Winner: Rock II
Notes: YOUNG GANGSTA took care of AOD at Total Carnage and still has hold of my X-Force Title. Time will come when his luck runs out, but before then, Rock II will have the pleasure of knocking him out in a LMS match.
CAPTAIN
1. Damage Control
The Heartbreak Kid v. Tito Ortiz (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: The Heartbreak Kid
Notes: The Heartbreak Kid and Tito Ortiz lock up in a Damage Control match to see if either has what it takes to be this month's #1 contender. Tito did it last year but fell short in the Title match. Can he repeat and get some revenge against Unknown Soldier at WWIII?
COLONEL
1. Damage Control
Euroman v. Luther (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: Euroman
Notes: Luther fell short of his goal at Total Carnage, but the good news is that both Colonel Championships are vacant and waiting for new owners. Tonight one of these two will move on toward the Colonel Title while the other may opt to fight for the Colonel X-Force Title.
2. Damage Control
The Unabomber v. RJ Wild (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: The Unabomber
Notes: RJ Wild would like nothing more than to win a Tournament and highlight a PPV. Tonight he'll get the chance to go that route if he can put more damage on The Unabomber in this Damage Control match.
GENERAL
1. Damage Control
CHARISMATIC HARDY v. Backyard Brawler 2 (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: CHARISMATIC HARDY
Notes: CH will face GHW's newest jobber, BB2 tonight in a Damage Control match. BB was sucked into the Martin Prince/Prince Martini feud, but he needs to focus on his own career before it slips away from him. Can CH have a rebirth in Damage Control?
2. Damage Control
Big Daddy v. Muhammad Hassan (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: Big Daddy
Notes: Big Daddy is no longer the General Champion and that has to bother him. He's always on his game but somehow was outwitted at Total Carnage. Now he will have to work his way to another Title shot, and it all starts against Jake Steele.
3. Damage Control
Gnarfflinger v. Psycho Savage (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: Psycho Savage
Notes: Psycho Savage can breathe again as he successfully retained his MITB briefcase at Total Carnage. He takes on Gnarff in a first round Damage Control match tonight, but even if he loses, he has to cash in his title shot sometime this month, so PS may be a new champion one way or another soon.
4. Damage Control
Black Dead v. StrikerLT (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: StrikerLT
Notes: Black Dead is not only a loser at Total Carnage, but he is now property of the X-Force. He thought it was funny to put Pennylane through hell the last two weeks, but now karma is going to come back and bite him in the ass. His first DC opponent is StrikerLT, and it's gonna be fun to watch the former Black Olympus friends beat each other up.
TAG TEAM
1. Height of Impact v. Hard Knocks (docs)
Winner: Height of Impact by default
Notes: Hard Knocks lost their debut last week and now they face their next obstacle, Height Of Impact. HOI is making a surprise return as a tag team after a brief stint a few months ago. Are they back for the long haul or are they going to be a flash in the bucket once more?
2. Damage Control
One Machine v. Hawter Than Pornstars (3 staff of choice)
Winner: Hawter Than Pornstars by default
Notes: One Machine and HTP will clash in a Damage Control match tonight and both need the win badly to get back on track in the Silver Division.
3. Damage Control
The KiLLers v. The Royal Airmen (3 staff of choice)
Winner by forfeit: The KiLLers
Notes: The KiLLers were not enough on Sunday to defeat the Silver Champs, MILF and Cookies, but they did prove last month that they're a competitive force in their division. The Royal Airmen are not shabby themselves, and this will make for a pretty even match. The goal will be Damage, so who's ready to deliver it?
4. Damage Control
Catastrophic Duo v. Xtermination Squad (3 staff of choice)
Winner: Xtermination Squad
Notes: Catastrophic Duo and Xtermination Squad round out the Gold Tag Division Damage Control action, and this is one heck of a match on paper. Both teams are equally match and equally dangerous. Prepare for a Damage Control tag team slobberknocker.
