Friday Night Mayhem (4/10/09): Taking No Prisoners
HARDCORE
1. Future Talent Match
Hardknox v. Pudge (Single-docs)
Winner: Hardknox
Notes: Hardknox makes his eagerly awaited debut tonight as he faces off against Pudge. Hardknox has been chomping at the bit to show what he can do in the ring, and Friday Night Mayhem will be his stage. Is he going to take this great opportunity and run with it?
2. Future Talent Match
Lyoto Matchida v. Random (Table-docs)
Winner: Lyoto Matchida
Notes: Lyoto Matchida is the newest GHW Superstar to sign a contract, and he will debut tonight on Mayhem against Ricardo. Can these two Hardcore Superstars outshine the other two Hardcore superstars fighting before them in this table match?
LIEUTENANT
1. Martin Prince v. Rock II (Cage-docs)
Winner: Martin Prince
Notes: Martin Prince is going to have to take a break from his ongoing drama with his past to face Rock II inside a steel cage tonight. Something tells me that Martin is going to get his bell rung...a couple times.
2. Non-Title Match
The Master v. Prince Martini (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Prince Martini
Notes: The Master, Billy Styles, is dodging his matches lately, but tonight he'll have to face Prince Martini head-on in a ladder match. Now that The Master knows he'll be facing trickshot at World Warz III, he needs to start racking up some wins to gain momentum.
CAPTAIN
1. Team UK v. Team Xantland 2
Destroyer v. The Ultimate Kid (Table-docs)
Winner: The Ultimate Kid
Notes: Team UK's Destroyer will face Team Xantland 2's The Ultimate Kid in this table match. Although they're both X-Force members at heart, Destroyer and UK will still put on a great match, and then continue to follow the strategy of the month afterwards. It's all about the X.
2. Non-Title Match
Unknown Soldier v. The Heartbreak Kid (Single-docs)
Winner: Unknown Soldier
Notes: Unknown Soldier brings his undefeated streak into the steel cage tonight in this non-title bout with The Heartbreak Kid. US is going to have a full plate at World Warz III when he represents Team USA and has to defend his Captain Championship. Something tells me he's in for a long night of grief.
COLONEL
1. Team Xantland v. Team Latino
Samoa Machine v. Malcriado Beast (Single-docs)
Winner: Malcriado Beast
Notes: Xantland's Samoa Machine is going to smash some Latino pride tonight when he takes on Malcriado Beast in singles action. After losing a shocking match to Team Japan, Xantland needs Samoa to have a strong performance.
2. Team Latino v. Team Mutt
RJ Wild v. Euroman (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Euroman
Notes: RJ Wild will wear his Latino heritage on his sleeve when he takes on Mutt's Euroman in a ladder match tonight. Both of these Superstars have to start getting something going for their respective teams.
GENERAL
1. Big Closet v. Backyard Brawler 2 (Cage-docs)
Winner: Big Closet
Notes: Big Closet has been quiet recently, and one wonders if his heart is invested in Team Latino. I could care less, but it will be fun seeing him and BB fight inside a steel cage.
2. Muhammad Hassan v. Angelus (Single-docs)
Winner: Angelus
Notes: Angelus lost a tough match to StrikerLT in Damage Control, but Team Xantland 2's co-captain is ready to dish some frustration out on Jake Steele.
3. Gnarfflinger v. Slim Shady (LMS-docs)
No Contest
Notes: Gnarfflinger is Team Canada's captain, and he's ready to lead by example tonight. The problem is that he faces Slim Shady, and only one of them will be left standing when it's all said and done.
4. Non-Title Match (Team UK v. Team Latino)
ValKyrie KD v. Black Dead (Ladder-docs)
Winner: ValKyrie KD
Notes: Captains of their respective teams, Kelly and Black Dead will clash in a ladder match tonight to score a small victory for their countries. With things starting to pick up, both want to get that extra edge. Black Dead has a lot to think about lately, considering he will cause one of his friends to be fired if he loses his Title match against Kelly's brother at WWIII. Then there's also the degrading tasks BD has had to do as the X-Force whipping boy this month.
TAG TEAM
1. Double Debut
Executive Collision v. The Devils Reckoning (docs)
Winner: The Devils Reckoning
Notes: The Bronze Tag Division will witness a double debut tonight when Executive Collision and The Devils Reckoning square off. There's no love lost between these two teams either, as their feud is growing each day. Who's going to have the successful launch to their tag career?
2. The Battalion v. The KiLLers (docs)
Winner: The Battalion via DQ
Notes: The Battalion and The KiLLers were two teams that looked to be favorites in Damage Control this month, but both flopped miserably. Now they will face each other on Mayhem to find out who is the bigger flop.
3. Dark Bulldogs v. Catastrophic Duo (docs)
Winner: Catastrophic Duo
Notes: Dark Bulldogs and Catastrophic Duo lock up in tag action tonight and it's a great matchup on paper. Hopefully it'll pan out to be a great match in the ring.
4. World Warz III Team Battle
Team Xantland 2 v. Team Mutt (Hardcore can use up to 6 staff, Lieutenants can use up to 5 staff, Captains can use up to 4 staff, Colonels and Generals can only use docs)
No Contest
Notes: Team Xantland 2 go into battle tonight against Team Mutt and its time that Xantland in general steps up their game.
5. World Warz III Team Battle
Team UK v. Team Latino (Hardcore can use up to 6 staff, Lieutenants can use up to 5 staff, Captains can use up to 4 staff, Colonels and Generals can only use docs)
Winner: Team Latino
Notes: In a clash between two very different cultures, Team UK will face Team Latino in a 5-on-5 battle to wrap up the card tonight. This should be a great conclusion to a jam packed evening, and it will help one of these teams move ahead in the war to come.
