Monday Night Combat (5/4/09): Split This If You Can
LIEUTENANT
1. Table Tournament
John The Crusher v. Martin Prince (Table-docs)
Winner: Martin Prince
Notes: Martin Prince defeated AOD somehow to advance to round 2 action tonight against John The Crusher, who lost to Cobrita last week. Due to injury, John gets a lucky second chance in the Tournament, but how long until his luck runs out?
2. Table Tournament
Rock II v. trickshot (Table-docs)
Winner: Rock II
Notes: Rock II splattered YOUNG GANGSTA thru a table last week and now he faces trickshot in round 2. These two have been around GHW from the beginning, so this will be both a classic and hard-fought match.
CAPTAIN
1. TimeSplitters
Torjio Kazukuni v. Destroyer (Single-docs)
Winner: Destroyer in 3 moves
Notes: Neither of these two Superstars clocked in a time in this month's tournament last week but it was for different reason. Torjio lost his match and Destroyer's opponent did not show up.
2. TimeSplitters
The Master v. Luke Kinkade (Single-docs)
Winner: Luke Kinkade in 14 moves
Notes: Tag partners clash once again as Billy Styles faces Luke Kinkade in this TimeSplitters match. Both scored victories in round 1, with Billy 3 moves faster than Luke. Only one will score a time tonight, and both are looking to speed up from last week.
3. TimeSplitters
ForSakeN v. Genesis 1 (Single-docs)
Winner: ForSakeN in 21 moves
Notes: ForSakeN leads the pack after round 1 with a time of 18 moves in his victory over Torjio last week. Now he faces Genesis who is hungry for his first TimeSplitters win.
COLONEL
1. Table Tournament
RJ Wild v. Malcriado Beast (Table-docs)
Winner: Malcriado Beast
Notes: RJ Wild and fellow Team Latino partner, Malcriado Beast, will fight in this Semi-Final Table Tournament match with the winner facing Eric the Torture next week in the Finale. MB slid into this match because of an unfortunate injury to Samoa Machine, but he better think again if he's gonna get that kind of luck this time around.
2. The Rematch
Eric The Torture v. Tito Ortiz (Cage-docs)
Winner: Tito Ortiz
Notes: Eric The Torture scored the BYE in the Semi-Finals of the Table Tournament, but now he has to face the man he eliminated last week, Tito Ortiz, in a rematch. It's no ordinary rematch, however, as it will take place in a cage, which is Tito Ortiz' favorite place to be.
GENERAL
1. TimeSplitters
Sergei Kravinoff v. CHARISMATIC HARDY (Single-docs)
Winner: CHARISMATIC HARDY in 2 moves
Notes: Sergei won his first match in TimeSplitters last week, but it took 36 moves to defeat his opponent. Tonight, he looks to speed things up against CH, but it won't be a simple task.
2. TimeSplitters
Big Closet v. Muhammad Hassan (Single-docs)
Winner: Muhammad Hassan in 14 moves
Notes: Big Closet fought a valiant match last week but fell short in the end. Tonight he looks to get on the TimeSplitters board and defeat Jake Steele with a quick time.
3. TimeSplitters
Big Daddy v. Pennylane (Single-docs)
Winner: Big Daddy in 5 moves
Notes: Pennylane leads the General Division so far in TimeSplitters with a victory in 21 moves last week. Tonight he takes on Big Daddy in an effort to keep his time low and earn a Title shot at NeXuS. Big Daddy has other plans in mind.
4. TimeSplitters
Slim Shady v. StrikerLT (Single-docs)
Winner: StrikerLT in 23 moves
Notes: Slim Shady and StrikerLT always seem to cross paths in Tournaments, and this month will be no different. Both look to log a strong time against the other, but most likely this match of evenly skilled Superstars will go the distance.
TAG TEAM
1. Bronze Tag Team Championship
Brutal Thugs v. YOUNG GANGSTA/Christian Cage (docs)
Winner and NEW Bronze Tag Team Champions: Hood Charisma
Notes: The Bronze Tag Team Titles have been vacant long enough. Tonight, they will find a new home, and it will either be in the hands of former champs, Brutal Thugs, or a brand new team that I'm putting together, YOUNG GANGSTA and Christian Cage.
2. Silver Tag Team Championship Fatal Fourway
Master and Legend v. The Battalion v. Strength of the World v. FsN and MB (docs)
Winner and NEW Silver Tag Team Champions: FsN and MB
Notes: Master and Legend are 6-0 and were undefeated champs in the Bronze Division. Tonight they face their biggest challenge but also get their biggest opportunity in the Silver Division. Three other teams will face them for the vacant Silver Tag Team Titles, and it's gonna be one chaotic tag match.
