Monday Night Combat (5/11/09): Cry for Help
LIEUTENANT
1. Money in the Bank Qualifier
Dyna Mike Duncan v. Trickshot (Single-docs)
Winner: Dyna Mike Duncan
Notes: Dyna Mike Duncan is looking for gold, and his search may end with both a Title shot and a Money in the Bank briefcase match at NeXuS. That is, if he can defeat trickshot tonight on Monday Night Combat. A #1 contender has yet to be found for the Lt. X-Force Title, but DMD looks to be the runner-up unless someone else steps up.
2. The Angel of Darkness v. Rock II (LMS-docs)
Winner: Rock II
Notes: AOD's valet and friend, Mia, is in the hospital after what happened in AOD's Table Tournament match with Martin Prince. To put salt in the wounds, Martin finds himself in the finale of the Tournament for the vacant Lieutenant Title at NeXuS. Now, to make matters even worse, AOD has to face Martin's NeXuS opponent, Rock II, in a LMS match tonight. Will AOD try to harm Rock II and give his nemesis, Martin, an edge in the Title match, or will AOD have other plans in mind? And where will Martin be during all of this? He's already paid Mia a visit in the hospital...
3. Non-Title Match
Christian Cage v. John The Crusher (Ladder-docs)
Winner: John The Crusher
Notes: Christian Cage came literally out of nowhere and has become the Lieutenant X-Force Champion after only just 3 matches in GHW. His reality may come down to earth when he faces John The Crusher tonight in a ladder match. Or, he may have to wait till he defends his Title at NeXuS.
CAPTAIN
1. TimeSplitters
Essa Rios v. Destroyer (Single-docs)
Winner: Destroyer in 11 moves
Notes: Essa Rios and Destroyer will be fighting in only their second TimeSplitters match tonight, but both will be in their third and final matches later this week on Mayhem. Essa lost his first match, but Destroyer scored the fastest time of any other Superstar in his first match by defeating his opponent in only 3 moves. Will he have the same luck tonight, or will Essa get on the board?
2. TimeSplitters
The Master v. RhinoMan (Single-docs)
Winner: RhinoMan in 21 moves
Notes: The Master won his first TS match, but was very angry to have to face his tag team partner, Luke Kinkade in the second match. That match resulted in a loss for Billy, but he looks to rebound and qualify for a Tournament victory with a quick win over RhinoMan tonight. Rhino will also be looking for the clinching victory, so one of these Superstars will get his dreams shattered.
3. TimeSplitters
Luke Kinkade v. ForSakeN (Single-docs)
Winner: Luke Kinkade in 19 moves
Notes: The two leaders in TimeSplitters for the Captain Division will clash tonight and one will hope to improve on his two-victory speed. Right now FSN leads 39-43, so it's gonna come down to the wire. Watch those tights and the quick submissions!
COLONEL
1. Non-Title Match
Luther v. RJ Wild (Single-docs)
Winner: Luther
Notes: RJ Wild was eliminated in the Table Tournament by his fellow Latino friend, MB, last week on Combat. Tonight he looks to save some face and defeat the current Colonel X-Force Champion, Luther. It's gonna be easier said than done though.
2. Table Tournament Finale
Malcriado Beast v. Eric The Torture (Table-docs)
Winner: Malcriado Beast
Notes: It has all come down to Malcriado Beast and Eric The Torture in the Finale of the Colonel Table Tournament. Both of these veteran Superstars want a shot at Euroman and his Colonel Championship at NeXuS, but only one will be granted the honor.
GENERAL
1. TimeSplitters
CHARISMATIC HARDY v. Big Closet (Single-docs)
Winner: Big Closet in 32 moves
Notes: CH has been able to pull of two huge victories so far in TimeSplitters and Big Closet has been shut out. Tonight it's Big C's opportunity to play spoiler against his latino friend, who is going to be fighting hard to get a fast win. Can CH improve on his score of 36, or will he be stuck with that number?
2. TimeSplitters
Sergei Kravinoff v. Muhammad Hassan (Single-docs)
Winner: Sergei Kravinoff in 30 moves
Notes: Both Sergei and Jake Steele have one victory in TimeSplitters, but tonight, one of them will have two and qualify to win the Tournament. Which of these two has the better resolve to get the job done quickly?
3. TimeSplitters
Big Daddy v. Gnarfflinger (Single-docs)
No Contest
Notes: Big Daddy scored a great 5-move victory over Pennylane last week but he'll need one more victory to qualify to win TimeSplitters. His final opponent will be Gnarfflinger, and he needs to defeat him or else waste a possible-clinching score.
4. TimeSplitters
Angelus v. Pennylane (Single-docs)
Winner: Angelus in 18 moves
Notes: Angelus and Pennylane both have one win and one loss in TimeSplitters so far, but now their roads cross. Only one will get the needed second win, and it better be a fast one if they are to be competitive in their Division.
TAG TEAM
1. #1 Contender Match for Silver Tag Team Titles
Master and Legend v. The Battalion (docs)
Winner: Master and Legend
Notes: Master and Legend lost their first GHW tag team match last week when they fought The Battalion and two other teams in a Fatal Fourway Championship match for the vacant Silver Tag Team Titles. Neither of these teams were able to escape victorious, but one of them will get a second chance at NeXuS. Who is going to take this opportunity and run with it?
2. Non-Title Match
Bulldog Savages v. MILF and Cookies (docs)
Winner: Bulldog Savages
Notes: Bulldog Savages are going to give MILF and Cookies a run for their money tonight as the dominant champs get back into the ring after a short respite. MILF and Cookies have a lot to prove in the Gold Division after dominating the Silver Division, but their existence is not going to be a fun one as long as the Bulldog Savages are around.
