Monday Night Combat (10/5/09): Releasing the Inner-Heretic
LIEUTENANT
1. YOUNG GANGSTA v. Spike Flynn (LMS-docs)
Winner: YOUNG GANGSTA
Notes: YOUNG GANGSTA and hopefully Spike Flynn will open the night with an entertaining LMS match. YG hasn't done much to impress anyone lately, but maybe with Gods v. Heretics coming up later this month, he'll throw his name in the mix for the Lt. X-Force Title. Besides, Spawn could use a new opponent to shake things up.
2. Black Dead v. Bruiser Brody (Table-docs)
Winner: Black Dead
Notes: Black Dead has been busy in his matches lately, but that doesn't give him an excuse why my office isn't being cleaned on a regular basis. The whipping boy and his Friend or Foe teammate, Zeph Calder, have made it to the finale, which will take place at GvH. They will face each other, and I'll be rooting for Zeph, or anyone else that faces BD. That also goes for Bruiser Brody tonight, who will crash BD through a table for safe measure.
3. Non-Title Match
Spawn v. Zeph Calder (Single-docs)
Winner: Zeph Calder
Notes: Spawn faced Black Dead last week on Combat and easily wiped the mat with him. Tonight, he faces BD's GvH opponent and former tag partner, Zeph Calder. Will Spawn continue his dominating ways, and who is going to step up to face him on the grandest stage of them all? Last month we got a slew of Superstars at the last minute, but this month he's only going to have one opponent.
CAPTAIN
1. Non-Title Match
Essa Rios v. ForSakeN (Ladder-docs)
No Contest
Notes: I'm sure FsN is extremely disappointed in his Gauntlet appearance this month, but that doesn't mean he can't still find a match at Gods v. Heretics. Essa still needs an opponent, and maybe FsN will make a rare two-time appearance in the Gauntlet. You just never know what's going to happen.
2. Gauntlet Tournament
Luke Kinkade v. Rock II (Cage-docs)
Winner: Luke Kinkade
Notes: War Machine or Luke Kinkade will battle against Rock II tonight in the next stage of the Gauntlet. This time, however, a cage will be dropped down to surround the ring.
COLONEL
1. The Angel of Darkness v. Malcriado Beast (Table-docs)
Winner: The Angel of Darkness
Notes: AOD makes his official debut in the Colonel Division tonight when he takes on Malcriado Beast in a table match. AOD is already lined up to take on Unknown Soldier in a Hardcore Ironman match at Gods v. Heretics, so he will use this match and the rest of his October matches to get ready.
GENERAL
1. Eric The Torture v. Muhammad Hassan (Single-docs)
Winner: Eric The Torture
Notes: Eric The Torture returns to singles action this week after getting last week off. He will take on Jake Steele in a traditional singles match. Does Eric have plans for GvH later this month, or is he still embroiled in a behind-the-scenes debacle with the Bulldogs?
2. RJ Wild v. Genesis 1 (LMS-docs)
Winner: Genesis 1
Notes: RJ Wild grapples with Geneses in a LMS match tonight. Since his suspension elapsed, RJ has not really found his groove in the General Division. Genesis will either keep him in that slump, or RJ is going to have a huge awakening.
3. Friend or Foe Tournament
Dyna Mike Duncan/Gnarfflinger v. Slim Shady/Big Closet (docs)
Winner: Slim Shady/Big Closet
Notes: In the semi-finals of the Friend or Foe Tournament, Dyna Mike Duncan and partner Gnarfflinger will challenge Slim Shady and Big Closet. The latter two Superstars fight as Bling Bling Brothers in the General Division, and received a BYE last week from the Tournament. Who will move on to face each other in singles action in the huge FoF Finale next week?
TAG TEAM
1. Non-Title Match
Psychotic Machines v. Deadly Gangstas (docs)
Winner: Psychotic Machines
Notes: Psychotic Machines will fight in non-title action tonight against the Deadly Gangstas. DG will try to make an argument why they should face the Champs at GvH, but with a couple other teams waiting in the wings, a win tonight is crucial.
2. Tornado Tag Team Match
StrikerLT/Travis Truth v. Nemesis Crop (Single IDs-docs)
Winner: StrikerLT/Travis Truth
Notes: StrikerLT and Travis Truth couldn't get along very well in their tag match last week, but still won when Striker took over and dominated the match against the Deadly Gangstas. Afterwards, hell broke loose between the two, and I scheduled this match artfully to make the two get along. The duo will take on the newest tag team in the bronze division, Nemesis Crop. Not often does a team debut under Tornado rules, but they're going to have to trust each other in a match where everyone is legal in the ring at the same time.
