She was waiting for a phone call. It was as simple as that. Her cell phone sat on the table and she sat across from it in a red chair. Her blonde hair was down and it looked like shit because she hadn't brushed it since she had heard that morning. People would come in and see if she was alright but she never said a word, just staring at that phone in anticipation. She wore black jeans with a chain belt and then a white t-shirt that had nothing on it at all except for a pair of black printed angel wings on the back. She was waiting for a phone call from her brother. The ring tone finally starts and it flashes a bit. The song it played was the Final Fantasy 7 battle victory and she quickly dived for the phone like a rabid animal. She flips the top open and her eyes are wide.
"Julian?"
She stood in silence and she sinks into her chair. She buries her face in her free hand and she lets out small sobs. She takes deep breaths and shakes her head.
"Are you sure? I mean, they did try everything right?"
She sat and listened to her brother and she breaks down and starts crying.
"Did he suffer at all? Please tell me he didn't suffer."
She lets out a sigh of relief and then smiles.
"Thanks for letting me know. I'm sorry about not being there. I'm just too far away."
She shakes her head and brings her knees to her chest.
"I love you too. I'll see you soon."
She hangs up the phone and stares at it a moment before angrily throwing it across the room. It hits the wall and falls to the ground in peices.
"Damn it! I shouldn't have left. I knew he was sick."
She buries her face in her knees and sheilds the rest of her face with her arms. She was grieving. The only parent she had left had died of a heartattack.
