Grew up like most kids in the area with the notion of studying hard and making good grades so as to be a scientist working for a big Japanese Corperation. His parents Shuki and Rizin had big aspirations and hopes for there only son. Ryu Kenamora once engaged in something would devote all his time and energy in the task in order to make sure that it got done the way he liked it. His Father though not a rich by most standards never complained and had the greatest wealth that anyone person could ask for. He had a caring wife and a smart, intelligent, good looking son.
As time passed and Ryu begin to get older he had heard some of the other boys at school talk about wrestling and watching there favorites in action. The kids would ask Ryu who his favorite was and he had to always answer that he did not have one as he never had time to watch wrestling because he had to study and make sure his grades were top notch. The other kids laughed at him and thought he was crazy for not being able to make enough time to go watch wrestling. Ryu not one to get riled easily would walk away and head home in order to finish the homework that he knew had to be done.
Ryu got home and went on to do his homework at this time he was 15 and was surprised when his dad held up two tickets for a wrestling event that was being held in town. Ryu at first did not know what to make of it as he had never seen a wrestling match but his dad kept pushing him and finely Ryu gave in and he and dad went to there first show. When they got there Ryu was amazed by all the people who had gathered and the rich color and pagentry that was going on. Ryu and his father showed there tickets and walked in. Ryu saw vendors selling all kinds of merchandise from masks, to t shirts to even small wrestling figures. His father put a hand on his son's head and walked with him towards the souvenir stand. Ryu looked at all the stuff and was hit with an emotional wave as well as confusion. He told his father that he could not make up his mind and that he wanted to goto to the seats.
Once they arrived at there seats and sat down. He was still amazed and wowed by the people and the ring with the multi color ropes. Little did Ryu know that this night would be the beginning of his future being shaped. As the lights dimmed and the show began Ryu watched with amazement as match after match came and went and the ebb and floor of each match was smooth and fluid. Ryu was on his feet with the rest of the fans as the Main Event for that evening began to took place. Ryu watched as a small Fighty fighty person by the name of Hawkeye got a big reception from the fans as he made his way to the ring and then was blown away by the moves that he watched Hawkeye pull off. The match was an epic struggle between Hawkeye and his opponent Shinzin Takamori. The battle would spill to the outside of the ring and into the guard rail. The match went on for 45 minutes and Ryu looked on as he watched Hawkeye hit the phoenix Splash and win the match.
Ryu and his father were the last to leave that night as they waited in line to shake hands and talk with Hawkeye. When it became Ryu's turn he was stammering to get the words out and almost turned away. Hawkeye just laughed, smiled, and talked with the kid while his father looked on. Finally Hawkeye and Ryu shook hands and his father would go broke that night as Ryu purchased DvDs and t shirts of his now new found hero.
Ryu would end up spending all of his spare time learning all he could about the man he met that night named Hawkeye. His mother began to get worried but his Father just shrugged it off and said it was just a phase. Ryu graduated with top marks and the highest honors from his school and then shocked both of his parents when he told them that he wanted to learn to wrestle. His parents caring and loving understood even though it was hard and let him learn to wrestle. Ryu made his way to where he knew that Hawkeye trained and walked inside the building. About this time Ryu had developed quiet the body and felt on top of the world. Hawkeye hearing the door opening turned his attention from his training and was surprised to see a grown up Ryu standing there.
Hawkeye talked with Ryu and found out that he had a passion and wanted to learn from the best. So Hawkeye having the time decided to take Ryu under his wing and train him and teach him so that he could join the sport. Hawkeye was impressed and amazed at how quick Ryu caught on and was even more amazed when he watched Ryu perform many of his signature moves with little effort. Hawkeye smiled and could tell that this kid had what it took.
Hawkeye continue to train Ryu and Ryu would quickly master the techniques and psychology that was required in order to make the fans happy. He would wrestle his first match in front of 300 people at the age of 18 and ended up losing as he tried to hang with the much older and more experienced Kentara. Ryu was determined to not let that stop him and he begin to train even harder with Hawkeye. By the time that he hit 20 he had wrestled in many matches and ended up winning the JWJP championship. Hawkeye came to the ring and stood with Ryu holding his hand high in the air before then quickly turning Ryu kicking him in the stomach doubling him over and then hitting a falcon arrow the crowd was shocked and stunned by the actions of Hawkeye on his student. Hawkeye left the ring as medics attended to Ryu. They would later go on and have a match and Ryu ended up getting the win by beating Hawkeye with one of his own moves. The crowd would go nuts as Ryu was declared the victor in what was a 10 minute match.
Ryu and Hawkeye would later team up forming a tag team where they wrestled against Shinto and Kanzaki. The match was spectacluar as all four men amazed the fans with the display of aerial moves. Hawkeye and Ryu would get the victory and left the ring together. Hawkeye went on to retire and once he retired Ryu asked if he could wrestle and carry on the Hawkeye legacy by being granted the rights to use several of Hawkeye's trademark moves. Hawkeye nodded his head and from there the two formed a strong bond.
Hawkeye while on a business meeting with some Japanese business man ran into Ryu and seen that he was becoming a big superstar. Hawkeye talked with Ryu about coming to America and wrestling with Gods and Heretics. Ryu without hesitation said yes and packed his gear and was on the same flight back to the states with Hawkeye.
