The cage door was shut behind them as was the case for the three other cages that stood opposite them in three different directions. There were twenty in all that were competing tonight. Twenty of the finest Fighty fighty persons GHW had to offer with the prize of capturing a lifetime opportunity hanging in the balance. Not many could survive this kind of brutality in a match. Careers had been driven to a near extinction due to this hell hole. Yet still, many brave souls were willing to put their names forward for yet another year of pain and violence. The five in this cage tonight consisted of a veteran in Tai O’Neil. Two up and coming superstars in the form of Ashton Saint and Reckoning. An experienced neXus fighter in Desperado. The man to have reached the final in both previous cases and lost on both occasions. The fire burning in his stomach was obvious as the determination in his cold eyes. The final of the lot was non other than the winner of the original neXus death-match. The Hardcore Genius himself, … Matthew Oliveira. Not only was he familiar with this marauder of a match. He knew how to last the whole night, he knew how to make it to the top and above all else competing, … He knew how to win. The five men stood with equal distance between them. It wasn’t long for Desperado to re-iterate his previous desire to win the match to his new found foe, Tai O’Neil. The words used were more than vile and enough to engage a response from The Knockout Kid. Tai strode forward with a ranged fist. His target was to knock Desperado’s head off his shoulders but much to his disappointment and the disappointment of the thousands of fans watching, Desperado dodged the blow with ease. His taunting smirk adding insult to the smashing blow he delivers to O’Neil’s ribcage. Matthew however, was there to intervene before Desperado could anymore damage. Pulling Desperado back by the collar and belting him with a heavy thump. In the presence of the three heavily experienced competitors, Ashton Saint and Reckoning found themselves out of their depth. The ambition however was much bigger than there opponents for both of them took a look at their battling foe’s, they shared a look amongst each other before dashing for an escape out of phase one. Their effort wasn’t long lasted as hot on their trail was the unlikely team of Matthew Oliveira and Tai O’Neil. The former KOTDM champion took one swipe Ashton’s leg which proved to be enough to bring down the young heavyweight. Reckoning proved a little more of a struggle than first thought by Tai as his persistent kicking of Tai’s hands and his own tight gripping of the cage took more effort from O’Neil but eventually, he managed to bring ‘The Reck’ down. Ashton picked himself off the ground, standing himself level against the Hardcore Genius. Having realised that running wasn’t going to provide anything, he decided to achieve it the hard way. His height and weight put him in equal contention to Matt O’. With his attitude to wrestling and brute strength was bound to provide Matthew with some problems. The first move Matthew had to deal with was a simple lock-up. Matthew of all people enjoyed a challenge of strength but not with this guy. His hands were big and bold, his arms the size of tree trunks and the force he managed to gather was unreal. :://~The Fuzz~\\:: "The strength this guy possesses is seriously something. Wouldn’t you agree with me Al?"
:://~Big Al~\\:: "Who cares how much strength he has. That won’t come in handy when you facing someone of Matt Oliveira’s calibre. It all comes down to wrestling skill and who can keep their wits about themselves. I reckon Ashton here has got the cunningness and ability to get the better of Matt in a one on one situation." Big Al’s words were seemingly correct as Saint began to cause Matt all kinds of problems with his might. The great Oliveira struggling to keep his ground. The strength of his opposition taking him down to one knee which was crushing into the canvas under Ashton’s weight. There is an uproar from the crowd who noticed Matt’s struggles from the chaos that surrounds them and suddenly a Stone Orchard chant begins to fill the atmosphere of the arena. The cheering begins to lift Matt’s spirits allowing him to get into a rhythm of sorts which compensates for the previous lapse. The Hardcore Genius charged his foe towards the turnbuckle where a trash-can full of weapons was at his disposal. Ashton Saint managed to put the brakes on before he could be toppled into the bin. Matthew however had other plans as he released himself off the lock and drove his right fist into Saint’s 16 by 2 row of teeth. The clever strike put Ashton into a spot of bother as he experienced a bloody tooth but his charming smile remained intact with no teeth missing. In the meanwhile, Matthew Oliveira found himself a chunk of frozen meat via a rummage through the trash-can. :://~The Fuzz~\\:: "Hah, … Out of all the things he could have picked out. He chose a piece of frozen meat. I can see a bloody baseball bat in there."
:://~Big Al~\\:: "Listen to me here fuzzy, … He’s got the title of the Hardcore Genius for a real good reason because the guy is literally a genius. Well compared to the many no-brainers you find in this industry. You think about it Fuzz, a frozen piece of meat will not last frozen for very long so you might as well use it whilst its effective and trust me, frozen food is an effective weapon." The solid leg of mutton made way for a good ol’ slapping to Ashton’s face knocking him senseless enough to drop him into a heap on the ground. Desperado, Tai and The Reckoning were enjoying themselves in a fest of punches and kicks until Matthew decided to join in with the frozen meat leg. The response was expected as all three of them ran towards the trashcans and pulled out the first thing they could find. Desperado held forth a mop. Reckoning stood tall with a snooker cue whilst Tai carried a large frying pan. TBC …

A stark look of surprise dawns on the face of the returning GHW veteran, now approached with much more sensible weaponry being held against him as the four men leer at one another, deciding who's the first to budge. Shruggingly, Matt tosses the leg of lamb across to Tai O'Neil, whom in a think-fast manner drops the frying pan to catch the meat (didn't mean it that way). Tai stares awkwardly at the chop in his hand, then up to the men that surround him -Oliveira scurrying away to the far corner where Ashton lay closest to. Desperado too stares at the strange weapon that Tai now holds, and then to Reckoning, and then back to Tai. Simultaneously, the team of Reck and Desperado attack O'Neil, Reckoning delivering a stiff shot with the pool cue across the stomach of the OTHER returning GHW veteran. Tai doubles over in pain, the mutton dropping to the canvas in all it's miscellanious glory. Desperado raises the mop overhead and swings it down across the back of O'Neil who slumps to his hands and knees from the welting blow. The former Orchard member steps over the sciatic area of the fallen athlete. Desp then holds the mop out front of him and crosschecks Tai across his shoulderblades, causing him to fall to the canvas with a groan. The dominant ICW leader squats down and places the household device across the throat of Tai, pulling upwards in a camel clutch-like position with a not-so-illegal choke on him. Tai gags from the harsh assault brought upon him from the DKO Dominator, leaving Reckoning to stand idley by until he swings the cue like a baseball bat, cracking across the chest and flexed arms of Desperado. A strained aweing of air escapes the pool-struck gladiator as he releases the mop, staggering backwards into the ropes. Reckoning drops the pool cue to the mat and grabs ahold of the New Yorker, a thick meaty palm stretching over the base of Desp's neck and another on his upper arm. Reckoning pulls the veteran to the center of the ring, pivoting to his opposite side with his grip still retained on the middleweight, and lurches to toss the smaller Deperado into the barbedwire cage.
*CRACK*
Luckily for his Orchard counterpart, Oliveira connects across the back of Reckoning with a steel chair taken from the trash can, stunning the big man momentarily. Matt lowers the chair and studies his victim, as he slowly releases Desperado and begins to turn around. The Genius rolls his shoulder and grips the chair once more, swinging forth with a second shot over Reckoning's head.
*CRACK*
Reck bows from the result of the blow, blinking heavily as the result of the concussive power. Oliveira raises the chair for a third time and drives it over the upper back and head of Reckoning, the large man crumbling from the shot. Matt proudly poses in the Crucifix as Desperado leans on the top rope, leering at the man who essentially saved his ass. The Genius drops his pose and holds out the chair to Desperado, whom takes it by the backrest and holds it by his side. The Cutthroat Canadian shrugs with a blank look on his face, Desperado being the only one in the cage having any real history -positive or negative- with him.
Al: "It appears that Matt, returning to GHW rings, has himself a plan to rehash old relation with Desperado. But as soon as that cage roof rises, we'll see how long some sort of a partnership can last."
Oliveira then turns to the corner where Ashton Saint pulls himself up by the pads, blood trickling down the side of his mouth from the previous strikes from the Hardcore Genius. The balanced competitor staggers out from the turnbuckle and holds his fists up for the second round, facing the oncoming Oliveira. Matt stops in his tracks and studies Ashton, a Fighty fighty person whom never to step into the same ring as him, who didn't know what he had done, or at least what he could do. Saint flicks his hand to coerce the Genius forward, which with a raising of hands The Genius obliges to. Both men step forward, Saint aiming with a kick, which Oliveira blocks. In retaliation, Matt strides forward with a hook, only to catch air. This opens up Oliveira's abdomen, leaving Ashton to grip him around the ribs in an attempted belly-to-belly suplex. Matt blocks, stuggling with the slightly larger competitor long enough to reach into his right pocket. Ashton attempts again, Matt with a rake of the eyes which release him of Saint's grip. He turns his back as Ashton rubs his vision clear, concealing the object removed from his attire unbeknownst to his rival. Saint rushes forward and reaches around Oliveira's waist once more, attempting to take control, his head under Matt's arm. The Genius cleverly wraps his arm around the cranium of Ashton, taking control of the tie-up long enough to get a firm grip on the undisclosed weapon he holds and jab it into the forehead of the younger man, sending him reeling.
Fuzz: "I swear, in any match a veteran's in that he doesn't have to be frisked...they take advantage of."
Oliveira remains on the hunt as Ashton retreats to the corner, kicking aside the trashcan of weaponry, now seen in his hand is a dinner fork. Matt rushes a knee into the small of the back of Saint, sending him to a kneel while he stands over him. The Genius coldly slithers a hand across Ashton's face, two of his fingers fishhooked along his top row of teeth, his thumb stretched to the side to reveal the initial stab wound inflicted by his stowaway utensil. Matthew then drives the fork into Ashton's forehead again as blood begins to flow from the wound, Saint's mouth open in a scream as The Genius sickeningly returns to his Deathmatch roots in a hard way. Tucking the fork into his hand, Matt returns to knuckle-bared jabs to Ashton's cranium in an attempt to bring more hemoglobin to the surface of the skin, a rainfall of right hands thundering over his skull. Saint returns with a back elbow to the inside of Oliveira's knee, jostling it enough for Matt to abort his attack and hobble away along the ropes. Saint holds his palm to his brow with a wince, encouraging himself enough to return to his feet and dig out a weapon while his has the chance. With blood dripping sporadically into the can before him, Ashton retrieves a fluorescent lighttube and removes it from the can while Oliveira gingerly walks to the center of the ring. Saint emerges from the corner with the tube overhead, Matt turns, and he swings. The Genius ducks, both Ashton's weapon skills limited and Oliveira's flourishing, and answers with a stiff kick to the groin which doubles over Saint. Matt confiscates the lighttube and plants it over the back of Ashton, bursting into shards and a cloud of dust causing him to arch back up in pain. Upon rising again, The Genius delivers a stiff right hook to Ashton's jaw once more, sending him to the mat.
