The scene opens in a formal room with two red suede chairs. In one of them is GHW.com's Jamie Graves. His gelled black hair is slickened back like a supernatural occurrence shining in the moonlight. As always, he's in a crisp, gray and black suit with thin white pin stripes climbing up his torso. The transmission starts with Jamie Graves looking into the lens of the GHW camera sternly.
"This past May of 2011 saw one of the greatest achievements in GHW history. The fifth NeXuS saw the crowning of Metal Dragon as he won of the most prestigious and controversial matches in GHW to date. Most notably, dispelling the soon-to-be five time NeXuS finalist, Desperado, once again."
"But that wasn't the only historic moment of the night. That very night also saw the end of GHW and EVPW career of Jake Diamond. The Dark Prince of Xtreme, NVX would end the career of Jake Diamond in a Fight Without Honour match."
A video is shown in transmission.
Looking for any opening whatsoever, NVX decided that taking the match with a win anyway possible would do it before rolling Jake up from behind with a school boy pin after sneaking out the back. Now, in most cases Jake Diamond would kick out after three but it was now his turn for karma to turn its back on. The same man who stole not only his tag titles but also his stables all out dominance from suddenly squirmed into the ring. Wrapping his entire body across Jake's and holding down the shoulders as NVX held him down, Shawn Dreamer couldn't help but laugh as the referee fell to the canvas. Three seconds was not nearly enough time for the GHW army to realize what was happening.
"Come on now, it's going to take more than a roll- WAIT! NO, FUCK OFF DREAMER!"
"ONE..."
"Dreamer! You can't lose this match for GHW, you're a tag champion for Christ sakes! NVX cannot win this way-"
"TWO..."
"Jake's career is going to end in the same bittersweet way it started... Losing by a cheap pin-"
"THREE!"
Kicking his legs out, Jake thought he got out at the last minute. He had to. It couldn't end like this. It wouldn't. However, much like most of his career, he was more wrong than he could ever realize. Rolling onto his knees, the sound of the bell was like a shot to the heart becoming deaf to the sounds of the EVPW army rejoicing and quickly vacating ringside. The sound of Team GHW becoming aware of what had just happened. The sound of the audience of fans realizing they just watched Jake Diamond's last match ever. Dropping his hands into his laps and his head dangling low, he was too weak to stand up. The adrenaline was gone as was the pain and even the numbness that soon followed. Yet, oddly enough, he was feeling something he thought he would have never felt in this situation.
Relief.
"Ladies and gentlemen... Your winner of the match and the man whose... Whose career is saved... N-V-X!"
At the moment it was NVX's time in the sun, he had ended the career's of one of the most prominent men in the history of GHW and EVPW. Looking over his shoulder at the group of men hoisting their hero onto their shoulders, the smile and proud look resonating off of his face, Jake couldn't help but smile. As one career had ended, another was kick started to the moon. As the rest of his GHW allies flooded the ring, many who had fought tooth and nail against solely for his own agenda, to give him sympathy he simply waved them off with a smile.
At this moment it was an unbelievable achievement. Not only did he end the career of the man who was egging him on and ridiculing him since their encounter in the SCW Deathmatch but he also put an emphasis on how alive and well EVPW was. The war was just beginning and NVX had invaded enemy territory and won. Joined by his group of comrades, NVX decided to leave the finished man to sulk in the ring; leave him in a pool of his own blood, tears, and empty thoughts. He felt some sympathy towards the Fighty fighty person but none for the man.
It took him a bit but he lifted off of his feet, ignoring the blood filling his mouth or the blood oozing down the side of his body, and looked out at the cheering audience. Giving a nodding gesture towards his two Templar, Jake almost silently ordered everyone to leave him alone. As everyone slowly vacated the ringside as well, the Cult of Personality gave a quick glare at Ryan Hughes before pointing a finger gun at the man. Receiving a nod in return he knew it was on. His wrestling days may be over but somehow, someway he'd give Ryan Hughes exactly what he had coming. Standing alone in the ring, Jake silently pointed out to the audience and clapped his hands, thanking the imaginary group of people for their support. Expecting it entirely the, "DON'T LEAVE JAKE!" chants started flooding down but he was ready. Like a man seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, Jake was ready to leave. Seeing the fleet of stagehands waiting in the wings to clean up the ring Jake figured this would be his swan song. Climbing through the top and middle ropes, the Head Hunter silently paused on the ring apron before taking a bow.
The Future had just become the past.
As the video ends, the scene returns to the set. Thee Jake Diamond is now sitting across from Jamie Graves in a red suede chair.
"If you don't mind mind, I'd like to read part of your outstanding biography for the fans watching."
"Coming into GHW on a wave of momentum, Jake’s arrogance reached his peak as he felt that he was the greatest Fighty fighty person alive, even dubbing himself as “The Future”. His will was put to the test in his first match at LockDown in a Hardcore match against Hyper Elf, in a rematch from ASWF. Jake would come out on top on this bout and would only catapult his rising star to a Main Event position on Revelation. He finally got his chance in a title opportunity for the King of the Deathmatch title against fellow member Vladimir Strife and four other opponents in an Electric Pool Match. The weeks leading up to Day of Destruction would be one of his finest as he continued his amazing winning streak and winning the first round of the Cruiserweight Tournament, shortly being removed by Alex Stall due to already competing at DoD. His first lost came in at DoD coming short as Vladimir tossed him into the Electric Pool, but Jake held his head high realizing championship gold was near in his future. Jake traced back his roots and became as American as baseball and apple pie, quickly re-starting his feud against Human Wreckingball who was already fighting his allegiance of The Coven. This feud would eventually lead up to a War Games match at Total Carnage in Jake’s own demonic structure, the Chamber of Death. But before the War Games match, Jake competed and won a Battle Royal to become the new Triumph champion, adding his first piece of GHW gold to his shelf. The night before Total Carnage, Jake fought Brett Steel in a hellacious Barbed Wire Cage Match and ending Jake’s undefeated singles career. His night to show how extreme he was came at Total Carnage when his “Team Diamond” (Based mainly on Coven members) took on Wreckingball’s team with Crazy Boy and Vladimir Strife as special enforcers. The match ended with “Team Wreckingball” standing tall after The Coven completely betrayed Jake Diamond, and finally ending The Coven, splitting Alex Stall and Hawkeye against Vladimir Strife and Kingbear and fully making Jake go into his own solo career. Despite losing the Chamber of Death, his battle against Human Wreckingball would be far from over as they still continue to fight in a battle of hatred. The battled continued to rage on the weeks afterwards to Fan's Appreciation night where an angry and furious Jake Diamond challenged Human Wreckingball to a match of his opponents, a Submissions Only match. After a flurry of illegal and cheap shots, the brutal match-up of future legends ends with a double knock-out, leaving both men in the middle of the ring. With blood pouring down his face and even going so far as putting his gold on the line, as Fighty fighty person's Appreciation week the "so-called" ending to the Wreckingball - Diamond feud ended in another Jake Diamond original match, the Midnight Massacre Match, as Jake smashed Human Wreckingball through a flaming table with a Riverside Dive. Despite reigning victorious over Human Wreckingball a week before the pay-per-view, Jake was placed in another match with his opponent and a new victim to the mix, Skull, at World Warz. Unfortunately for the Futurites, Jake Diamond failed to show due to a family problem he had to deal with. Still, with road blocks in his way, Jake Diamond managed to recover very nicely instantly beginning a true world war against enemy Canadian, Alex Stall and the Forsaken Angels. Thriving off of his imaginary destruction of the New Era, Jake set his sights on the former Roaring Tempest champion Alex Stall and his Forsaken Angels even going so far as to institute an army of his own. Consisting of former ally The Power House and unknown and mysterious Pablo Amante, Jake and his "Hatebreed" continued the war against his former Coven adversary in a familiar match, the Chamber of Death scheduled at NeXus. Although, things would take a turn for the worst for the Future before the Chamber of Death could happen, quickly rushing back home to Chicago to tend to a suffering family member, leaving The Power House and Pablo Amante to pursue their own path and leaving the GHW rosters for Japan. Although, knowing he could do nothing for his family member Jake decided, instead of defending his Triumph title in GHW, took the same path of Pablo and Power House and headed to Japan to further his career."
"It's hard to believe that's only part of your amazing wrestling career."
"First off, I'd like to thank you for agreeing to an interview."
"I think it'll be a great experience for the both of us and the fans."
"This first question is what we all think about"
"Jake, since your retirement after NeXuS V, have you found it difficult to stray away from the world of wrestling?"
"Incredibly difficult. I mean, I'm a fan of the sport, always have been and always will be. It's nice to sit back and watch how the matches will all go down versus being the one in them. There's still a few guys I watch specifically but as a whole, yeah, it still very much consumes my life."
"Too many times I've seen great talent such as yourself go through the revolving door of GHW development. Hundreds of Fighty fighty persons have shown up here just to leave days or weeks later. Was there ever a time when you thought you had met the end of the line? Did you ever lie awake at night wondering if you could be replaced? Was there a moment in your career where you finally felt that you cemented yourself in the company?"
"There's been numerous time where I've felt that way. Any extended absence I've had of course I've been tending to injuries or other issues but usually at those points I felt I lost my way. I don't think I could ever been replaced persay. Sure, it's easy to take my spot on the card, without a doubt. The upper midcard is a place that's desired heavily however as far as myself as a worker? Absolutely not. I feel like everyone is too 'one dimensional'.
"As far as cementing myself here I still don't think I accomplished everything I set out to do. I don't think I'll ever feel like I'm fully complete here even if I feel like I've seen and done everything. It's like there's something sitting there, holding me back still."
"In your career with GHW, who was the ultimate driving force for you to continue your career and rise to the top? Who did you draw the most influence from? How? It doesn't matter what you had for dinner!"
"There were two main influences. The first of which was Desperado. When I first came into this business he was still forcing his way in to be a top draw and it seemed as though everything he did from his matches to his promos I absolutely idolized. He's a main reason why I accomplished so much.
"The other is Vladimir Strife. He and I started at the same time. I was a charismatic pure Fighty fighty person and he was... well... a hardcore, brawling piece of shit. Not envy, not at all. I knew I was better, it was just the fact of proving it. That was always a continuous inspiration."
"Let's talk about your last two big matches. The first was a huge match against Hayden HardKore in an 'I Quit', Title vs. Career match for the then New Age Championship. As a result, you lost the match and your title. And of course, your final match against NVX of EVPW at NeXuS V. Do you feel bitter at all about the final moments of your career? Any regrets?"
"You know, more and more people are starting to ask me this. I competed in hands down the two best matches of the year. In the end of both though, I really thought it could've been handled better. I mean, where's NVX right now? Hell, I guess I gave we gave each other one heck of a final match. Given the ending and how that match went it's probably one of my most favourite in my career.
"I think looking at that 'I Quit' match it really showed how both of us are as performers. I, of course, went out there to put on the best show that any fan would see that night, maybe even of their lives. Hayden was just in it to win. I mean, you really couldn't expect GHW to lose their 'top star' despite Jake Diamond being thee most popular New Age champion in years..."
"Well, Thank you Jake-"
"It's been a pleasure Graves-"
"-Good luck to you in the future-"
"-Thanks"
"-I hope to see or hear from you soon!"
