Sat on the bench that is running along the entire length of the wall, is Connor Quinn. Fully dressed in his wrestling gear he is putting the finishing touches by methodically wrapping the remaining of some white tape around his left wrist when Charlie Coors arrives with a microphone. There are small, closed lockers around the men inside the room. Not too far away from Connor a sports’ bag is laid open with its contents spilling out. However, this doesn’t seem to belong to Connor so the idea of a shared locker room is not so farfetched. Charlie looks back over his shoulder and into the camera awaiting a signal. It comes rather quickly and the scene officially opens up with only Charlie and Connor within its focus. The young upstart with the long blond hair finishes the last of his tape and stands up to Charlie. He gives the man a small nod and Charlie brings his microphone up.
Coors: I am backstage in the presence of none other than a new talent trying to make a name for himself here at the GHW. Ladies and gentlemen I present to you Connor Quinn, all the way from Chicago. Connor in only a few minutes you are to go one on one against arguably the most dangerous man here at the GHW, James Daniels better known as Desperado. As I am sure you’re well aware, there are very few names that the fans and critiques alike associate with the word ‘legend’, and the name Desperado is one of those names. From his younger days as a member of the Stone Orchard to his present day Desperado has achieved many accolades and has accomplished a lot, but one thing that stands out the most is his deadly nature. He has the power to suddenly and decisively rap up a contest in the most brutal manner. Knowing all of this, many fans want to know how you’re feeling and how prepared are you going into this match, at your very first pay-per-view facing Desperado.
Connor who was nodding in agreement all along to what Charlie had to say smiles at the very last comment. He brushes his uniquely long hair back, dragging down with his fingers weaving through the blond follicles. He takes a quick taste of his lips, licking them then inhales deeply. His breath is slowly released, while giving himself more time to ponder. Eventually his voice comes forth.
“Desperado, Charlie is a legend as you kindly said. Don’t forget, he is a five time Nexus finalist and the only man ever to defeat the undefeatable Vladimir Strife in GHW. I am in awe of this man. He is everything that I strive to be hopefully in my long successful career to come. Tonight I get the chance of a lifetime. This is an opportunity that I will grab with both hands and clutch it tightly to my chest. I won’t let go no matter what. Win or lose, I am going to step into the ring with my idol. You ask me how prepared I am? One-hundred-and-ten-per-cent! I’ve been training my whole life for an opportunity like this. I’ve made the biggest sacrifices in life to get here and to this moment. I’ve cut myself away from the closest of family and friends. I am as ready as I will ever be. I am ready to give it all. I am ready to give everything, every ounce of my being to pull off a match of a life time. I’m going into this match Charlie, knowing that after all of these long years it is the make it or break it moment for me. I get the chance to prove to myself that I have what it takes to make it big in this business, and what makes it ten times bigger is the fact that I am going to face my idol, a man I deeply respect doing it.”
Connor pats Coors on the shoulder signalling that he has said all he had to say. Taking the microphone back Charlie nods in return as he watches Connor move past him.
