*continued from blood runs cold*
After Jerry Nate's head hits the porcelain, both men lay prone on the bathroom floor. The Ref Begins his count.
1...
2...
Both men still lay motionless on the floor.
3...
4...
Running on pure adrenaline and unwillingness to lose, Jerry Nate begins to move, although it clear there's nobody home.
5...
6...
Nate grabs the urinal, not to void his bladder, but to lift himself up from the dirty bathroom floor. Vegas' eyes open to see that his opponent has begun to get to his feet and he too begins to move.
7...
Vegas reaches for the sink on the other side of the bathroom, pulling himself off of his back.
Both men are getting up from the floor! Which one will get to their feet first?
9...
Nate has made it all the way to his knees, while Vegas is still trying to pull himself off of the floor. But Nate is still feeling the effects of the deadly Nevada Drop onto the porcelain urinal. He becomes dizzy are disoriented, the lights of the bathroom become bright and overwhelming. The Shotgun Kid falls back to the floor, making a small splash in a mixture of sweat, melted snow and piss. Vegas has managed to pull himself to his knees and, seeing Nate on the floor, begins to smell, along with rotten urine from the dirty bathroom, Victory. He just needs to pull himself to his feet!
10!
Milliseconds after the ref finishes the count, Vegas is on his feet. He raises his arms in victory, believing that he beat the count and is the new KOTDM champion. Like an umpire making a very close "SAFE" call at home plate, the ref begins to flail his arms in Vegas' direction. Double count out! Double Count out!
He did it! Vince Vegas is the New King of the Death Match! Do you job ref! Give him the belt!
The TV broadcast cuts to replay and clearly shows the ref call 10 before Vegas had reached his feet.
A noble effort Al, there's no doubt about it. But it's a draw. Vince Vegas will have to wait for another day. Jerry Nate is still the King of the Death match! If only by the skin of his teeth.
A draw. Worse than kissing you sister. I'm sure Jerry Nate knows that feeling all too well.
