Monday Night Combat (9/24/07): Bringing out the Gods
LIEUTENANT
1. Will Powers v. The Hitman Sam jacka (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Will Powers
Winner: Chad managed to keep Sam jacka away from his Lieutenant Championship at Redemption in the Cincinnati Street Fight. Tonight, Sam gets Chad's tag team partner Will Powers in a Ladder match. Sam should be in the Title hunt yet again this month after he became discovered last month.
2. Non-Title Match
Chad J0hns0n v. Stevie Rock 2 (Table-docs)
Winner: Chad J0hns0n
Match Hype: CJ was victorious once again at Redemption and still can call himself the Lieutenant Champ and future Hall of Fame material. A big celebration for #85 is still promised, but in the meantime, he will face Stevie Rock 2 in a non-title table match.
CAPTAIN
1. Mike Lethal v. Malcriado Beast (Single-docs)
Winner: Mike Lethal
Match Hype: Mike Lethal and MB are two upcoming Captain Superstars. How fast they are upcoming is a question only they can answer, but by the looks of it, they're both pretty strong and motivated. Tonight they will get some Combat action when they square off in a singles match.
2. The Power House v. John Triton (Cage-docs)
Winner: The Power House
Match Hype: The Power House is looking to get back onto his winning ways when he gets into a cage with John Triton tonight. Both of these resilient Superstars will claw and fight to the death in what should be a 5-star match.
3. Handicap Match
Carlito Kool v. Flying Pans (docs)
Winners: Flying Pans
Match Hype: A feud is brewing between the Elitists and Carlito Kool. Carlito already has enough on his plate with his fellow Latino Superstars, but now he's picking a fight with trickshot. Carlito challenged trickshot to a handicap match and trickshot chose Gnarfflinger as his partner. Will the Flying Pans knock some sense into Carlito, or will Carlito outsmart the duo?
COLONEL
1. Big Closet v. Smart Rocket (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Big Closet
Match Hype: These two MITB participants will fight in a ladder match tonight in the spirit of good competition. BC and SR are bright stars who may one day lead the Colonel Division. Time will tell, however, and so will their desire.
2. Best of 3 Falls Match
Bigguns88 v. The Overtaker (1:Single-docs; 2:LMS-docs; 3:Ladder-docs)
Match 1 Winner: The Overtaker
Match 2 Winner: The Overtaker
Match Hype: The Overtaker feels underutilized in GHW and believes he's still the rightful #1 contender. Bigguns disagrees and has accepted a 3 falls match against the Cowboy. The first match is a singles match, and the second was selected by bigguns to be a LMS. The third and final match is The Overtaker's choice which is a Ladder. This is a great way to kick off a new month in GHW.
GENERAL
1. Ermac v. Lt. Commander Worf (Table-docs)
Winner: Ermac
Match Hype: Ermac finds himself as the most experienced Superstar in GHW after the abrupt retirement of ForSakeN in his Buried Alive match at Redemption. Tonight Ermac takes on Tai O'Neil in a good old fashioned table match.
2. y2000j v. Rock II (Cage-docs)
Winner: y2000j
Match Hype: y2000j gets inside a cage with the GHW veteran Rock II this week. It should be a classic match that will witness blood and carnage that only these two could provide. A win here is a great way to start the month off and take one step closer to the biggest PPV of them all, Gods v. Heretics.
TAG TEAM
1. Debut Match
On The Rise v. Hardcore Dreams (docs)
Winner: Hardcore Dreams
Match Hype: The newest tag team in GHW, On The Rise, faces their first ever action tonight when they go 2 on 2 against Hardcore Dreams. Since the Bronze Division is very shallow these days, one of these two teams could make a big push for a Title shot at the next PPV.
2. Kings of the World v. Top Gunz (docs)
Winner: Kings of the World
Match Hype: Top Gunz took out Charisma last week, but they'll get the rough and tough former Gold Tag Team Champs Kings of the World tonight. KotW have beaten Top Gunz before, so TG will be looking for a bit of revenge and a win to prove that they might be ready for a title shot.
