Monday Night Combat (2/11/08): The Weak Shall NOT Survive
LIEUTENANT
1. Triple Threat
Truco v. Agent Tran v. Xx S1CKEM xX (docs)
Winner: Truco
Notes: Agent Tran has turned around his bad luck lately and put together a string of nice wins. That string might get cut tonight when he takes on two angry Superstars, Truco and S1CKEM.
2. Ladder Tournament Match
Tommy Musashi v. The Killer Animal (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Tommy Musashi
Notes: The Ladder Tournament continues when Tommy gets back into the mix after a BYE last round. The Killer Animal better hand him a good fight, or he may end up being a roadkill.
3. Ladder Tournament Match
Harold the Pretzel Man v. ForSakeN (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Harold the Pretzel Man
Notes: Can someone get me a damn pretzel already? Harold takes on ForSakeN in the Semis tonight, and his undefeated streak is on the line. Could the vender-turned-Fighty fighty person keep his unlikely underdog story going?
CAPTAIN
1. Luther v. TC Carroll (Single-docs)
Winner: Luther
Notes: This match may turn into a bathroom break for a lot of the fans if TC or Luther don't do something to keep people caring. I personally will not watch this rubbish.
2. Double Promotion Match
Untamed Beast v. Terremoto (LMS-docs)
Winner: Untamed Beast
Notes: I respectfully took UB out of the Pick Your Poison Tournament this month after he decided to rack up enough experience to get promoted soon. Tonight will be his send-off match in the Captain Division, and he is facing Terremoto who may also be on his way out after this one.
3. Pick Your Poison
Will Powers (1-1-1) v. Scotty Dreamer (2 coaches, 1 trainer) (Ladder)
Winner: Will Powers
Notes: Will Powers and Scotty Dreamer get a second life in the PYP Tournament after UB was removed due to promotion. Scotty chose Will's staff and Will chose Scotty's staff. The winner here will go to the finals against the waiting and cigar-smoking, The Immortal Mortal.
COLONEL
1. Matthew Oliveira v. Malcriado Beast (Table-docs)
Winner: Malcriado Beast
Notes: Malcriado B takes on Matt O in a Battle of Worst BO match. I kid. They will instead fight in what should be a very boring tables match.
2. CHARISMATIC HARDY v. Lone Wolf (Ladder-docs)
Winner: CHARISMATIC HARDY by default
Notes: The Lone Wolf lost his debut last week in my monstrous creation, The Death Sentence Tournament. He will now have to heal fast because he faces CH in a ladder.
3. Non-Title Match
Raju_The_Bomber v. Bigguns88 (Cage-docs)
Winner: Bigguns88 by default
Notes: The best champion ever in GHW history will get another easy win over Zantazm's tag team partner, Bigguns88 tonight. Bigguns suffered a Death Sentence not too long ago so he should be in perfect condition for Raju to tear him limb from limb.
GENERAL
1. One-Arm-Tied-Behind-the-Back Match
Zantazm (no staff) v. y2000j (3 staff of choice) (Single)
Winner: Zantazm
Notes: Zantazm keeps beating the odds, like defeating the Gold Tag Champs last week in handicap action, but I am still getting my job done. I will continue to run him ragged this month so that he has no chance at the PPV. Tonight he takes on the man that took him out of the Ladder Tournament, y2000j. The kicker is that Zantazm has to have one arm tied behind his back. This will be amazing to watch.
2. StrikerLT v. Lt. Commander Worf (Cage-docs)
Winner: StrikerLT
Notes: Tai O'Neil has returned, and he gets his first singles action tonight against StrikerLT. StrikerLT is sitting on another BYE this week, so I figure I'd stick him in a cage to keep him bruised up.
3. Ladder Tournament Match
Rock II v. I Always Lose (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Rock II
Notes: Rock II and I Always Lose fight in a semi-final match tonight in the Ladder Tournament. Whoever wins this match will face Striker in the finals, and that winner will beat Zantazm at Dawn of Destruction.
TAG TEAM
1. Natural Disasters v. The Wild Closet (docs)
Winner: Natural Disasters
Notes: Everyone loves to see a bunch of latinos beat each other silly, so that's the purpose and only purpose to this tag match.
2. Bronze Tag Tournament
Power Junkys v. Collateral Damage (docs)
Winner: Power Junkys
Notes: Power Junkys picked up a big win last week and now they take on the well-rested Collateral Damage. Anybody know where my TV remote is?
3. Bronze Tag Tournament
Fairy Warriors v. Legends Running Riot (docs)
Winner: Fairy Warriors
Notes: Fairy Warriors aren't as loose in the slippers as they appear. They won their first round match and now take on two supposed legends that are running around trying to start a riot. At least I think that's what they're doing.
4. Silver Tag Tournment
Blood Brothers v. 85th Veritcal (docs)
Winner: Blood Brothers
Notes: I actually am a bit intrigued by this match. 85th Vertical got a surprise win over Domination last Friday, and now look like they're back in top form. They will get a good challenge against Blood Brothers.
5. Gold Tag Tournament
NSA v. Flying Pans (docs)
Winner: Flying Pans
Notes: NSA will be waiting to see who wins the Charisma/Flying Pans match because they will face the winner tonight in 2nd round Gold Tag Team Tournament action.
