Wearing Out the Body and Soul

(Yes, my first post in ages. Sorry, Scotty didn't tell me when I needed to appear. So, poke him if you missed me. )

Izzy had been in the gym for hours now but it was as if she had just arrived. Three bottle of water, two red Gatorade, two towels, and body spray were all laid out on a bench. One towel was stained with sweat, one water bottle was empty and one Gatorade was half full. The manager (yes, manager if you don't remember) was in a full swing workout but it was more to wear herself down until there was nothing left. She had been mentally worn down with making sure that everything that Dreamer wanted happened. It was better for her she thought, make sure that her mind is occupied so she didn't have to think about her own screw ups.

At the moment she was doing some simple exercises. She was on a mat with a towel around her neck, not one of the two on the bench, and was doing push ups. Her face was red from moving so much and so much at once. Her body ached but she wasn't going to stop. She knew that she should pace herself but she couldn't, even if she wanted to.

The girl was dressed in a gray sports bra that clung to her body quite firmly and a pair of black cheer shorts. She wore long white socks that were scrunched down to her ankles with a pair of white gym shoes, that she rarely wore. Her blond hair was up in a ponytail but now it was a mess. Sweat poured from her but there was a slight smell of honeydew melon over it as she had just sprayed the body spray on her.

"21.... 22.... 23...."

The door near Izzy was cracked open and lead to the practice rings which had been particularly quiet as of late. Usually the sound of people training and working on technique could be heard from the room but it was seemingly quiet for the first time in ages. All of a sudden the sound of something slamming into the mat can be heard followed by a violently fast rush of what sounded like kicks and punches could be heard as well. Izzy stands up from her workout and walks over to the door to see what the noise is, looking into the practice ring and feeling her thoughts stop immediately as she sees who is in the ring. As she drops the towel in her hand and steps through the door she sees the man she hadn't in months, one she knew better than nearly anybody in the arena. Alex Stall was working himself into a somber sweat as he threw a few more punches followed by a spinning roundhouse kick. He stops for a small breather and sees Izzy. He could tell she wasn't in a mood to talk to him, not after he just up and disappeared her. Alex shakes his hands out and waves her over. She obliges and slides into the ring, catching a pair of sparring gloves that he had tossed to her. He straps on his own set and a pair of padded shin guards just in case.

::Alex Stall::
"Go ahead and get it all out, then I'll explain...."

Without a second of hesitation Izzy lunges in with a jab into Alex's jaw. Alex smiles and rubs his jaw a second, underestimating her mood again and catching a rough kick to the thigh that causes Izzy to spin around and throw a hook as she goes and slam her fist into Alex's chest. Alex backs away a bit, the kick being felt in the nerves in his leg and the muscles shifting lightly. Izzy takes no time but to come into him and throw another jab, but Alex catches this one and steps into the trap she had laid. The former Women's Champion shoots her knee up into his stomach and feels the wind escape his lungs before slamming her elbow into his back and shoving him onto his back. She drops down and straddles his chest, her knees dug sharply into his shoulder as she grabs his black and raven blue hair lifting her fist menacingly.

"You just took off on me Alex, what the hell do you have to say for yourself huh? What could we possibly have to talk about when you took off without a damn word!"

Alex lets himself relax and look at her like he's going to accept whatever attacks she wants to throw. Izzy just gets up at this sign, seeing him as running from a problem again and turning from him. She takes the gloves off and turns and throws them at him before walking over to the corner turnbuckle and leaning her elbows on it while trying to calm down her quickly rising anger. She feels a hand on her shoulder and turns to throw another jab at Alex's jaw but feels his hand encompass her wrist and his other arm wrap lightly around her back as he pulls her in and kisses her. Izzy's anger explodes as she slams her free fist into his ribs violently to get him to let go of her, but he just wraps his other arm around her and rests his head on her shoulder.

::Alex Stall::
"I was an idiot.... I ran from everyone when I found out about my problem and I should have told you.... Please just let me try to explain it to you... please Izzy.... I need to tell you the truth.... I love you too much for you to keep on despising me...."

Alex whispers the words in her ear and expects to feel another sharp fist into the ribs. He feels the bruise starting to form from the first hit and thinks to himself that he doesn't think he could handle another straight hit. Izzy pushes him off and looks into his eyes, seemingly searching for the exact thing to say to him.

She wanted to hit him again. The emotions of anger were surging through her as they had been that whole day. She just wanted to beat him until he was nothing but a limp body on the floor. She wished she could have but he wasn't just some opponent that had pissed her off. He wasn't just some random someone to fight in the ring. He was the one she gave her heart to and he turned on her. Leaving seemed like a good option then. She could hardly handle the near loss of a good friend to an in ring experience. They were suppose to be there for each other but he turned and she tried to go on. Though, she ended up here, like she always did. She turns away from him and slips out of the ropes and lands roughly on the floor. From her previous work out her muscles seized in her legs and she stumbles only to find herself on the ground. She groans and hears the steps of Alex as he quickly made it out of the ring and to her side. When he reached down to help her she just pushed his hand away and picked herself up.

"Just... just don't touch me..."

He steps away, heeding her request. Her voice was hurt, tired, and sad. It was as if anger had left for that moment. She leans up against the practice ring, now sitting and starts to massage the muscles in her legs. Tears were in her eyes and eventually they did escape, sliding down her cheeks. Alex was hesitant but he sat down with her but at a distance, respecting what she asked.

"I waited for awhile you know. I thought that you would come around. Though, I never got a call when I was at school."

She looks over to him, her tears still falling and her eyes blazing.

"Not a fucking one. Even when I needed you most. My brother can't be around, he can't have a life as a lawyer."

She brings her knees to her chest and just buries her face in them. It was just all rushing back to her now.

"Izzy... I..."

"Don't Izzy me."

Her voice was like venom. She looks up to see that he had been reaching for her but he pulled away when she looked at him.

"I loved you.... I still love you. I don't know why but I do. Even though I feel like I've been thrown into the pits of hell. Why did you do it? Didn't I have a right to know?"
