Friday Night Mayhem (1/23/09): Run While You Can
HARDCORE
1. Future Talent Match
RKO v. Goldberg (Single-docs)
Winner: Goldberg
Notes: RKO and Goldberg could be the future of GHW, but it's matches like these that pave their way in this business. Which of these two Superstars can make a name for himself?
LIEUTENANT
1. Eric The Torture v. Ultimate Gene (Single-docs)
Winner: Eric The Torture
Notes: Eric The Torture will face Destroyer in a Streetfight on Sunday as voted by the fans. That Lieutenant X-Force Championship match is going to very highly acclaimed, but ETT better hope he doesn't get any last minute injuries when he takes on Ultimate Gene tonight.
2. trickshot v. YOUNG GANGSTA (Cage-docs)
Winner: trickshot
Notes: YOUNG GANGSTA and trickshot have been a thorn in my side lately, but their mouths will be shut for a bit when they face each other inside a steel cage tonight.
3. Lieutenant Championship
The Master (c) v. Martin Prince (Single-docs)
Winner and NEW Lieutenant Champion: Martin Prince
Notes: The Master has one last obstacle in his way this month in order to remain the Lieutenant Champion and win The Champions Tournament. That obstacle is Martin Prince, who must have found a four leaf clover on Monday when he got the lucky win over Allanon. Martin lost the last time he was in this situation earlier in the month, and I fully expect a repeat performance.
CAPTAIN
1. Tito Ortiz v. The Ultimate Kid (Table-docs)
Winner: Tito Ortiz
Notes: Tito Ortiz and Ultimate Kid will lock up tonight, and after the dancing is over, one will be thrown through a table.
2. Non-Title Match
Tommy Musashi v. ForSakeN (LMS-docs)
Winner: ForSakeN
Notes: Tommy Musashi hasn't looked like himself lately, but he does have one last shot to get on a winning streak before defending his Captain X-Force Championship this Sunday. This last shot won't be easy, though, as either he or his opponent ForSakeN will be knocked out for a 10 count.
COLONEL
1. Debut Match
The Unabomber v. Malcriado Beast (Single-docs)
Winner: The Unabomber
Notes: The latest addition to the GHW roster, The Unabomber, debuts tonight when he takes on the Latin Beast, MB. Winning a debut match takes a lot of pressure off of a newcomer, so we will all witness if Unabomber has what it takes.
2. RJ Wild v. Luther (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Luther
Notes: RJ Wild has been tapped to face Dyna Mike Duncan at Winter Fury compliments of yours truly. Tonight he gets a little taste of the Bulldogs when he faces Luther in a ladder match. Will RJ have the match of his life on Sunday?
GENERAL
1. Gnarfflinger v. ValKyrie KD (Cage-docs)
Winner: ValKyrie KD
Notes: Kelly Duncan has a golden opportunity at Winter Fury to become the first ever Ms. Money in the Bank when she faces 7 other Superstars in a rumble match. Tonight she gets to take on Gnarff inside a cage to get her in perfect shape of what is to come.
2. Backyard Brawler 2 v. Big Closet (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Backyard Brawler 2
Notes: Big Closet has a ticket to Winter Fury, but BB2 will have to watch from backstage. That can't make him too happy, and that may translate to a devastating ladder match tonight.
3. Slim Shady v. StrikerLT (Table-docs)
Winner: StrikerLT
Notes: Slim Shady and StrikerLT have crossed paths before, but tonight a table or two will be in play, and someone is not going home happy.
4. Falling Angel v. Black Dead (LMS-docs)
Winner: Falling Angel
Notes: Falling Angel, much like ValKyrie KD, could be the first ever Ms. Money in the Bank if she can capitalize this Sunday in the MITB Rumble. Her opponent tonight, Black Dead, will also be in that match, so here's a preview of one matchup to keep your eyes on at the PPV.
TAG TEAM
1. Bulldog Savages v. Lost Cause (docs)
Winner: Bulldog Savages
Notes: Bulldog Savages showed their dominance last week when they defeated the current Champions, Havoc, in tag action. Lost Cause, on the other hand, may have lost a step or two as they lost to ReVamped last week. Tonight these two teams will clash and it should be fun to watch.
2. Dark Bulldogs v. ReVamped (docs)
Winner: Dark Bulldogs
Notes: Dark Bulldogs are definitely the future of the Gold Tag Team Division, but if they want to make it to the top, they're going to have to consistently defeat veterans like ReVamped. Will Dark Bulldogs be a break-out team next month?
HARDCORE
