Monday Night Combat (3/30/09): Damn-age Time
LIEUTENANT
1. Damage Control
Genesis 1 v. trickshot (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: trickshot
Notes: Genesis was too much for Dave Abernethy last week, and now he will take on either trickshot or AOD in his second round match. At this rate, the masked madman may be on top of the Lieutenant Division in no time and make both the Bulldogs and Xantland proud.
2. Damage Control
Luke Kinkade v. Prince Martini (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: Luke Kinkade
Notes: Luke Kinkade will face Prince Martini or Ultimate Gene in this second round Damage Control match. With so many question marks in the air, it's too tough to say what could happen except damage.
3. Non-Title Re-Match
YOUNG GANGSTA v. Rock II (LMS-docs)
Winner: Rock II
Notes: YOUNG GANGSTA got rocked by Rock last Friday on Mayhem, and I loved the match so much that I've decided to book it again tonight on Combat. Hope you're not feeling too sore, YG, cause you're about to get knocked out once more.
CAPTAIN
1. Damage Control
Destroyer v. Essa Rios (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: Essa Rios
Notes: Destroyer made a triumphant return last week in his first Damage Control match after spending a couple weeks in wrestling school per Xantaxm's request. The school did Destroyer wonders and now we'll see if he can make it two in a row against a new Captain Division Superstar, Essa Rios.
2. Damage Control
Marcus Airbourne v. The Heartbreak Kid (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: Marcus Airbourne
Notes: Marcus took care of The Ultimate Kid last week in round 1 and now he goes up against either Tito Ortiz or The Heartbreak Kid in round 2. This could end up being a very fierce match, so hang on tight.
3. Non-Title Match
Unknown Soldier v. Tommy Musashi (Single-docs)
Winner: Unknown Soldier
Notes: Unknown Soldier has not fought since his Total Carnage title defense, but tonight he'll have to take on Tommy Musashi. Sporting a 10-0 record looks nice on paper, but it won't get US far in World Warz III. He won't be a part of Xantland, that's for sure, and that means he won't be winning.
COLONEL
1. Damage Control
Samoa Machine v. Lunchtime Legend (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: Lunchtime Legend
Notes: Samoa Machine and Lunchtime Legend will lock horns in this second round Damage Control match and it's going to be anything but pretty. Both of these guys know how to deal the damage, but which one knows how to control it the best?
2. Damage Control
Eric The Torture v. The Unabomber (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: The Unabomber
Notes: Eric The Torture will face The Unabomber in this second round match of Damage Control. Eric is making his Colonel Division debut, and he sure has his work cut out for himself.
GENERAL
1. Damage Control
HawkEye v. The Impacter (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: The Impacter
Notes: HawkEye made a splash in his General Division debut, but something tells me he won't be walking out of Combat tonight with his arms raised in victory. The Impacter stands in his way and if The Impacter does to HawkEye what he did to Sergei Kravinoff, then HawkEye is in for one long night.
2. Damage Control
CHARISMATIC HARDY v. Psycho Savage (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: CHARISMATIC HARDY
Notes: Psycho Savage has advanced to the second round and that means that he doesn't have to cash in his briefcase just yet. Tonight he takes on CH, who defeated Backyard Brawler last round. Someone make me a Damage Sandwich.
3. Damage Control
Big Daddy v. Slim Shady (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: Big Daddy
Notes: Big Daddy will take on Slim Shady in this second round matchup. Damage is the name of the game, so who wants to play?
4. Damage Control
StrikerLT v. Angelus (Single-3 staff of choice)
Winner: StrikerLT
Notes: StrikerLT fought Black Dead in one of the closest and most damaging Damage Control matches last week and just barely got out on top. Now, he faces either Angelus or IAL in second round action.
5. Non-Title Match
Dyna Mike Duncan v. Black Dead (LMS-docs)
Winner: Dyna Mike Duncan
Notes: DMD is a champion worth talking about and he will be the Captain of Team Xantland come World Warz III. Tonight, he will take out the X-Forces newest whipping boy, Black Dead, in a LMS match. Life can't get any worse for BD right now, and I like every second of it.
TAG TEAM
1. Damage Control
The KiLLers v. FsN and MB (3 staff of choice)
Winner: FsN and MB
Notes: The KiLLers got an easy default win last round after The Royal Airmen split as a tag team. Now they must take on the team of FsN and MB, who defeated The Battalion last week in a quick match. This should be a great second round Damage Control match.
2. Damage Control
UK and the Asian v. Hawter Than Pornstars (3 staff of choice)
Winner: Hawter Than Pornstars
Notes: UK and the Asian finally won a match as a team, but now they come up against Hawter Than Pornstars in the second round. I put UK and Tommy Musashi together as a team so that UK would sabotage Tommy and it worked last month. Will things keep going this way?
3. Dark Bulldogs v. Xtermination Squad (3 staff of choice)
Winner: Xtermination Squad
Notes: Dark Bulldogs got a BYE in the first round of the Tournament after some much needed rest from their Total Carnage match. Now they take on Xtermination Squad in this round 2 Damage Control match. Can DB do it again this month and get a rematch with the Bulldog Savages at World Warz III?
LIEUTENANT
