Friday Night Mayhem (4/24/09): Rebuilding
HARDCORE
1. Future Talent Match
Tom Hawkins v. Caramon Majere (Table-docs)
Winner: Tom Hawkins via no-show
Notes: Tom Hawkins won his debut match, but now he gets to shine on the Friday Night Mayhem stage in a Future Talent match against Caramon Majere. With both of these Superstars gearing up for the Gladiator Games this month, a win could be critical.
LIEUTENANT
1. YOUNG GANGSTA v. Rock II (LMS-docs)
Winner: YOUNG GANGSTA
Notes: YOUNG GANGSTA is fighting tonight in his first match since losing the Lieutenant X-Force Title at World Warz III. The deck was rightfully stacked against him this last Sunday, and it’s about time a real champion holds that belt. Rock II will embarrass YG for the third time in a month with a knockout.
2. Non-Title Match
Genesis 1 v. Ultimate Gene (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Genesis 1
Notes: Genesis is the new Lieutenant X-Force Champion and now the fans have a real hero to look up to. Genesis will fight his first Non-Title match tonight against the zany Ultimate Gene. Ladders will be key.
CAPTAIN
1. ForSakeN v. The Ultimate Kid (Single-docs)
Winner: ForSakeN via no-show
Notes: ForSakeN lost the Captain X-Force Championship to Marcus Airbourne at World Warz III, and it seems that these two keep handing the Title back and forth to one another. Whether ForSakeN ever gets it back is yet to be determined, but he better pay attention to Ultimate Kid because UK might start where Airbourne left off.
2. Non-Title Match
Marcus Airbourne v. The Heartbreak Kid (Table-docs)
No Contest
Notes: Marcus Airbourne has something to raise his head high about tonight, and that’s the fact that he’s a 3-time Captain X-Force Champion. His opponent tonight will be HBK, and Marcus will aim to throw him through some furniture.
COLONEL
1. Triple Threat Match
Tito Ortiz v. Malcriado Beast v. Samoa Machine (docs)
No Contest
Notes: Tito Ortiz, Malcriado Beast and Samoa Machine will battle in a triple threat match to open up the Colonel Division tonight. All three of these Superstars are looking to push themselves to the top of a pretty open Division this month and a win would be a great start.
2. Non-Title Match
Luther v. Euroman (Cage-docs)
Winner: Euroman
Notes: Luther is the new Colonel X-Force Champion and it’s about time. He’s had his misfortunes in recent Title matches the last few months, but now he’s realized his goal. Euroman will stand in his way when the two are locked in a steel cage.
GENERAL
1. The Impacter v. Muhammad Hassan (Single-docs)
No Contest
Notes: This match will feature The Impacter and Jake Steele. It’s anybody’s match, but the winner will get an edge on the rest for next week’s commencement of this month’s Tournament.
2. Big Closet v. CHARISMATIC HARDY (Single-docs)
Winner: CHARISMATIC HARDY
Notes: Big Closet and CH are Team Latino brothers, but tonight they’ll be opponents in this traditional singles match. Which of the two will jockey himself to garner a win?
3. Gnarfflinger v. Pennylane (Ladder-docs)
No Contest
Notes: Gnarff and Penny clash in a ladder match tonight, and with the way Penny has been fighting, he’s looking to get an easy win. Gnarff always puts up a fight though, so Penny may be surprised at the conclusion.
4. Non-Title Match
ValKyrie KD v. y2000j (Single-docs)
Winner: ValKyrie KD by default
Notes: Kelly Duncan has retained her General Championship once again, and it’s looking like she and her brother, Mike, are the most dominant Generals right now. Will anybody step up in May or will we see more of the same?
TAG TEAM
1. Handicap Match
Xtermination Squad v. Black Dead (docs)
Winner: Black Dead
Notes: GHW’s whipping boy will continue to get his whippings when he faces Xtermination Squad in a handicap match. Xtermination Squad lost a heartbreaker to the Bulldog Savages at WWIII, but this match is a gift to them to release their frustrations. Black Dead, wipe down the ring when the match is done.
2. Bronze Tag Team Championship
Master and Legend v. Brutal Thugs v. The Devils Reckoning (docs)
Winner and STILL Bronze Tag Team Champs: Master and Legend via DQ
Notes: Master and Legend have been dominant as the Bronze Tag Team Champions, but their run ends tonight whether they win or lose. If they win, the Champs will be promoted to the Silver Division. If they lose, then one of their two opponents will be crowned the new Bronze Champs. The Devils Reckoning are 2-0, and this just may be their big chance.
