Friday Night Mayhem (6/12/09): Befitting of Punishment
HARDCORE
1. Future Talent Match
Lethal Leigh Brown v. Random (Single-docs)
Winner: Lethal Leigh Brown
Notes: Lethal Leigh Brown makes his GHW debut to kick of Friday Night Mayhem and he'll be met with a challenge from Random. Will Leigh got off on the right foot or will Random welcome him to the company unceremoniously?
LIEUTENANT
1. War Machine v. John The Crusher (Single-docs)
Winner: War Machine
Notes: War Machine will face a difficult fight against John The Crusher in their match tonight, and it will be interesting if he can defeat the odds. In singles action, anything can happen.
2. Ultimate Gene v. Martin Prince (Ladder-docs)
Winner via no-show: Martin Prince
Notes: Martin Prince fell to Christian Cage in the Master of the Mat Tournament, but he's not planning on leaving the Lieutenant Division without one last win. Will Ultimate Gene provide him with that win, or will he send Martin packing on a bad note?
CAPTAIN
1. Dyna Mike Duncan v. Marcus Airbourne (Table-docs)
Winner: Marcus Airbourne
Notes: Marcus Airbourne may provide Dyna Mike Duncan with his biggest challenge in quite some time, which makes this table match one to watch. Duncan can almost be put in the unbeatable category the way he rips through divisions, but will someone actually stand in his way?
2. RhinoMan v. The Angel of Darkness (Single-docs)
Winner: RhinoMan
Notes: AOD had a huge opportunity slip through his fingers on Monday Night Combat this week. He lost his chance to become the Captain X-Force Champion to Essa Rios. Now, he looks to make a quick rebound against RhinoMan. AOD still has the MITB briefcase in his possession, so he could always use that if he gets the itch for a Title shot.
COLONEL
1. Unknown Soldier v. Samoa Machine (Cage-docs)
Winner: Unknown Soldier
Notes: Samoa Machine makes his return to GHW after a few months of rest to face Unknown Soldier inside a steel cage. Samoa will have his work cut out for him, but who said it was ever easy being a GHW Superstar? Samoa has the talent to become a major force quickly, and don't be surprised if he's fighting for Titles soon.
2. Non-Title Match
Eric The Torture v. Dark Lord (Single-docs)
Winner: Eric The Torture
Notes: Eric The Torture is getting stalked by someone, but it will all end next week when that person comes forward to "re-unite" with him. It's not certain if this is favorable or unfavorable for Eric, but he better get his head into wrestling tonight because he faces Dark Lord.
GENERAL
1. Muhammad Hassan v. CHARISMATIC HARDY (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Muhammad Hassan
Notes: Jake Steele is in the Finals of Master of the Mat after a BYE in the semis, but he will take on Pennylane next week for the Tournament win and a Title shot at Tried and Convicted. On his Tournament week off, however, he'll take on CH in a ladder match.
2. Big Closet v. Sergei Kravinoff (LMS-docs)
Winner: Sergei Kravinoff
Notes: Big Closet looked strong on Combat when he defeated Lunchtime Legend in a best of 3 falls cage match, but his work isn't done this week. Tonight, he'll show resolve if he can get through a LMS with Sergei Kravinoff. When you ask for lots of matches, you will get them. Just don't blame me if you get hurt.
3. Non-Title Match
ValKyrie KD v. y2000j (Single-docs)
Winner: y2000j
Notes: Kelly Duncan could shoot to become one of the longest reigning champions in GHW history, and at this rate, she could pull off the feat. That is if she can fend off two more challengers before defending her General Title at Tried and Convicted. Tonight, her challenger will be y2000j. Next week she'll face one more Superstar and then she'll be off to the PPV. Can Kelly continue dominating?
TAG TEAM
1. Brutal Thugs v. Demolition (docs)
Winner: Brutal Thugs
Notes: Brutal Thugs and Demolition are going back to the drawing board, and in Brutal Thugs case, they may be moving on to the Silver Tag Division soon. Without a win in a few weeks, Brutal Thugs have looked flat and unmotivated. That leaves a perfect opportunity open for Demolition who seek only their second GHW victory.
2. Supreme Soldiers v. Hells Advocates (docs)
Winner: Hells Advocates
Notes: Supreme Soldiers were very close to winning the Bronze Division Master of the Mat Tournament, but then promoted. Now they will take on the 1-7 Hells Advocates in their first Silver Tag Division match. Hells Advocates have the perfect opportunity to throw around any weight they may have tonight.
3. Non-Title Match
Master and Legend v. FsN and MB (docs)
Winner: Master and Legend by default
Notes: Master and Legend will face The Battalion at Tried and Convicted for the Silver Tag Team Championships, but first, they will have to take on the team that lost to The Battalion in the #1 contender match. FsN and MB let their guard down in their last match, but there's no better way to let some steam off than defeating the Champs.
