Monday Night Combat (7/6/09): Outback Contenders
LIEUTENANT
1. Lethal Leigh Brown v. Random (Table-docs)
Winner: Lethal Leigh Brown
Notes: Lethal Leigh Brown sports a perfect record so far in his GHW career, but newly promoted Random will try to end that tonight. These two young studs are the future of GHW if they can stay healthy, and this match is going to be a great start to the flagship show.
2. Cobrita v. Ultimate Gene (LMS-docs)
Winner: Cobrita
Notes: Cobrita defeated Ultimate Gene last week in a table match, but now Ultimate Gene gets a chance to redeem himself in a LMS match. Cobrita has been on a tear lately, and that includes destroying Spike Flynn's Hummer last week. How is Spike going to respond, and is Cobrita staying focused on his upcoming match at RWB with all these other distractions on his plate?
3. Hardcore Match
Reckoning v. Spike Flynn (Single-1-1-1)
Winner: Spike Flynn
Notes: Reckoning is very frustrated with his recent slump, and in desperation, he has come to my office requesting a hardcore match with Spike Flynn. Reckoning believes he can squash Spike in this type of match to get things going again for himself, but is he possibly biting off more than he can chew?
CAPTAIN
1. Non-Title Match
ForSakeN v. The Angel of Darkness (Single-docs)
Winner: ForSakeN
Notes: ForSakeN is smooth sailing to his Title defense at Red, White and Bruised in about two weeks, and tonight he will tangle with Mr. Money in the Bank, AOD. AOD has really had no impact the past month or so, and if he can pull off a win against ForSakeN, maybe he will be ready to cash in his briefcase and become newsworthy again.
2. Jack of All Trades Finale
Luke Kinkade v. Martin Prince (Cage-docs)
Winner: Luke Kinkade
Notes: Luke Kinkade is in yet another Tournament Finale to no surprise, and he will face off in a cage against either The Master Billy Styles or Martin Prince. One of these Superstars is going to have a date with Captain Champ, ForSakeN, in Australia soon.
COLONEL
1. Non-Title Match
Tito Ortiz v. Genesis 1 (Cage-docs)
Winner: Genesis 1
Notes: Tito Ortiz will fight Genesis inside a steel cage tonight, and then he will watch the Jack of All Trades Finale to see who he will face at Red, White and Bruised. Tito feels at home in a cage, but the same can be said for the quirky Genesis. This match is going to be a brawl for the ages.
2. Jack of All Trades Finale
Euroman v. Unknown Soldier (Cage-docs)
Winner: Euroman
Notes: Euroman will square off against Unknown Soldier in the Finale of the Colonel Jack of All Trades Tournament. Euroman has been to the top of his Division before, but Unknown Soldier is still rather green. Notwithstanding that, US has a pretty nice record so far and looks to build on his tremendous success.
GENERAL
1. Lunchtime Legend v. CHARISMATIC HARDY (Ladder-docs)
Winner: CHARISTMATIC HARDY
Notes: Lunchtime Legend will snack on CH this week in a ladder match while he's on BYE in the Jack of All Trades Tournament. CH is no pushover in ladder matches though, but he's been much more quiet than usual.
2. Non-Title Match
ValKyrie KD v. Slim Shady (Single-docs)
Winner: Slim Shady
Notes: Kelly Duncan has been busy with photo-shoots and legal issues lately, but she'll take a few minutes out of her time to fight Slim Shady tonight in a singles non-title match. Kelly is always a joy to watch in the ring (and out), and this match with Slim Shady will test her limits.
3. Jack of All Trades
The Masterpiece 3 v. Muhammad Hassan (Cage-docs)
Winner: The Masterpiece 3
Notes: In a Semi-Final Jack of All Trades match, Brian Commonwealth will continue his grand GHW comeback against Jake Steele inside a steel cage. Both of these Superstars prefer traditional bouts, but in Jack of All Trades, all skills must be mastered. It's going to be fun to see these two adapt to their surroundings.
TAG TEAM
1. Big Viruses v. Dark Bulldogs (docs)
Winner: Big Viruses
Notes: Big Viruses have the desire to win, but their competition seems to be a little more experienced than they are. That can be said confidently when we talk about Dark Bulldogs. Dark Bulldogs have yet to figure out how to beat their counterparts, Bulldog Savages, but they're working hard to improve. A #1 contender for Australia will be found soon, so this match could steer one of these teams into that match.
2. #1 Contender for Silver Tag Team Titles (Fatal Fourway)
FsN and MB v. Supreme Soldiers v. Master and Legend v. Hells Advocates (docs)
Winner: FsN and MB
Notes: The Silver Tag Team Division will get a little chaotic tonight when four teams clash in a Fatal Fourway to decide who will go to Red, White and Bruised to face the current champs, The Battalion.
3. #1 Contender for Bronze Tag Team Titles (Hardcore)
Iron Titans v. The Boondox Boys (1-1-1)
Winner: Iron Titans
Notes: Iron Titans are yet to be defeated in tag team action, and they will face a couple of familiar faces tonight when they take on The Boondox Boys in a #1 contender match. Iron Titans may have defeated The Boondox Boys last week, but this week, these teams will brawl under hardcore rules, and one of them will get a ticket to this month's PPV.
