Friday Night Mayhem (9/25/09): Slamming Down the Gauntlet
HARDCORE
1. Dark Match
Level One v. Angelus (Single-docs)
Winner: Level One
Notes: Level One replaces Shane Williams in this dark match against veteran and former Champion, Angelus.
LIEUTENANT
1. Zeph Calder v. Psycho Savage (Single-docs)
Winner: Psycho Savage
Notes: Zeph Calder and Psycho Savage are now in the Lieutenant Division, evidenced by their Friend or Foe match on Combat. Tonight they'll debut in singles action against each other. This is a nice little preview of what the face of the Lieutenant Division will be in the near future.
2. Friend or Foe Tournament
Black Dead/Zeph Calder v. Spike Flynn/Bob the BadGuy (docs)
Winner via no-show: Black Dead/Zeph Calder
Notes: Black Dead will be partnered with Zeph Calder tonight to face Spike Flynn and Bob the BadGuy in the Friend or Foe Tournament. No one knows how these partnerships are going to turn out, but we do know that if all goes well, these partners could be facing each other if they make it to the finale.
CAPTAIN
1. Non-Title Match
The Angel of Darkness v. Luke Kinkade (LMS-docs)
Winner: Luke Kinkade
Notes: Luke and AOD will clash in a rematch from Code Blue, and you know Luke is looking for a slice of revenge. AOD, meanwhile, has formed the Un-Americans, and has a challenge on his lap from Unknown Soldier at Gods v. Heretics. What's AOD gonna do?
2. Gauntlet Tournament
ForSakeN v. War Machine (Single-docs)
Winner: War Machine
Notes: ForSakeN took out Martin Prince in the first phase of the Gauntlet this month, but before he can get too comfortable, War Machine is looking to take his spot as the person to beat. This should be one heck of an entertaining match between two strong competitors.
3. Non-Title Match
Essa Rios v. Marcus Airbourne (Ladder-docs)
No Contest
Notes: Essa Rios is back on top at the Captain X-Force Champion after defeating and getting revenge on AOD at Code Blue. Now he goes back to having a target on his back, and fighting in Non-Title matches. Marcus will get the first stab at Essa in a ladder match tonight.
COLONEL
1. Non-Title Match
Samoa Machine v. Euroman (Cage-docs)
Winner: Euroman
Notes: Samoa Machine successfully defended his Title at Code Blue and he's cemented himself as the guy to beat in the Colonel Division. He may be sitting at top for a while too since the Division has very few contenders. Tonight, he'll get inside a steel cage for the fun of it with Euroman.
GENERAL
1. Non-Title Match
ValKyrie KD v. Muhammad Hassan (Single-docs)
Winner: Muhammad Hassan
Notes: Kelly D is just unbeatable at PPVs when her General Championship is on the line. Another successful defense this past Sunday gives her an automatic spot on the Gods v. Heretics card this month. Tonight, she'll face off against Jake Steele to keep her coordination and endurance in check.
2. Friend or Foe Tournament
RJ Wild/CHARISMATIC HARDY v. Genesis 1/Luther (docs)
Winner: RJ Wild/CHARISMATIC HARDY
Notes: RJ Wild has been searching high and low for a tag partner to face the Bling Bling Brothers, but so far he's come up empty handed. Tonight, I'm assigning him a familiar face in CHARISMATIC HARDY when these two begin their Friend or Foe Tournament journey. They'll face the combination of Genesis and his fellow Bulldog, Luther.
TAG TEAM
1. Debut Match (Handicap)
Deadly Gangstas v. Spawn (docs)
Winner: Deadly Gangstas
Notes: Deadly Gangstas are the newest duo to hit the Bronze Tag Team Division scene, and they're needed badly in what is a very emaciated division. Will this duo climb to the top in just one month?
2. The Battalion v. Hells Advocates (docs)
Winner: Hells Advocates
Notes: The Battalion fell as the Silver Tag Champs at Code Blue, and now the twosome will have to regroup to make it to the top again. Hells Advocates will be the first team to try to kick the former champs when they're down.
