Monday Night Combat (10/19/09): Last Rites
LIEUTENANT
1. YOUNG GANGSTA v. Ultimate Gene (Table-docs)
Winner via no-show: YOUNG GANGSTA
Notes: YG will open Monday Night Combat for the last time as he is going to be promoted to the Captain Division very soon, if not after Gods v. Heretics on Sunday. Tonight, he'll take on U-Gene, and then Sunday he'll take on Spawn for the Lt X-Force Title.
2. Non-Title Match
Black Dead v. Spike Flynn (Single-docs)
Winner: Black Dead
Notes: Spike Flynn wanted some revenge on the whipping boy, Black Dead, and he's gonna get it. These two have a bit of unfinished business from Code Blue that they need to settle, and then off to Gods v. Heretics goes Black Dead to defend the Lieutenant Championship against Zeph Calder.
3. Non-Title Match
Spawn v. Zeph Calder (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Spawn
Notes: Zeph didn't win the Friend or Foe Tournament last week nor the Lieutenant Championship, but he'll get his rematch this Sunday. In the meantime, he'll face Lt. X-Force Champ, Spawn, tonight in a ladder match. Spawn is going to have his work cut out for him at GvH against YOUNG GANGSTA.
CAPTAIN
1. RhinoMan v. The Master (LMS-docs)
No Contest
Notes: Rhinoman or The Master is going to have a tough night after one of them gets knocked the heck out in this LMS Match. The ring crew will then mop up one of their bloody remains.
2. Contenders Triple Threat Match
War Machine v. Luke Kinkade v. ForSakeN (docs)
Winner: Luke Kinkade
Notes: The three #1 contenders of the Captain Division will battle it out in this triple threat match to get them warmed up for Gods v. Heretics. War Machine and Luke will meet in the Gauntlet Finale Sunday while ForSakeN will take on Essa Rios for the Captain X-Force Title. All three have been quite familiar with each other this month in the Tournament, but only one will get a unique win over the others tonight.
COLONEL
1. Unknown Soldier v. Tito Ortiz (Single-docs)
Winner: Unknown Soldier
Notes: Unknown Soldier will attempt to fight Tito Ortiz tonight if the latter Superstar decides to show up. Otherwise, US will focus all his attention on AoD, who has been getting inside of the proud American's head lately. Will the mind tricks give AoD the edge on Sunday in a possible unmasking match?
2. Non-Title Match
Samoa Machine v. Euroman (Table-docs)
Winner: Euroman
Notes: Samoa Machine defends his Colonel Title against Malcriado Beast on Sunday, but he may eventually wind up facing Mr. Money in the Bank, Euroman, in a Title match if he still has it after Gods v. Heretics.
GENERAL
1. Genesis 1 v. RJ Wild (Ladder-docs)
Winner: Genesis 1
Notes: Genesis will face RJ Wild in this ladder match to start off General Division action. Gen has been rather invisible this month, along with his Bulldog friends. Will he stir up some more trouble in the coming weeks again?
2. Champs and Contenders Tag
Slim Shady/Big Closet v. ValKyrie KD/Eric The Torture (docs)
No Contest
Notes: One current General Division champ will tag with one current #1 contender in this tag match tonight. All of these Superstars will be main eventers on Sunday, but only a pair will get an early edge going into the event. Will Bling Bling Brothers have the advantage since they've teamed together already, or will "friends" Eric and Kelly find a way to outsmart their foes?
TAG TEAM
1. Handicap Match
StrikerLT v. Carbon Truth (docs)
Winner: Carborn Truth
Notes: StrikerLT pulled off a major upset on Surge when he defeated Level One to become the #1 contender for the Hardcore Title. Now, I'm going to punish him by giving him a handicap match with his Gods v. Heretics opponent's tag team, Carbon Truth. Striker and Travis didn't work so well as a team this month in their tag matches, so let's see how well they work tonight on opposite sides. Their match on Sunday is one of the most anticipated matches in recent memory, so tonight's match should add one last layer of hype.
2. Non-Title Match
Psychotic Machines v. Nemesis Crop (docs)
Winner: Psychotic Machines
Notes: Nemesis Crop feels that they should be involved in the Bronze Tag Title match this Sunday, but problem is, they have not won a match yet in their 2-match career. What ever happened to earning a shot? Tonight, they'll get their wish to face the Champs, but it will be Non-Title. If they can get a victory, then maybe they have a reason to be included at GvH. Otherwise, they need to start training a bit harder.
