TUESDAY NIGHT TRIUMPH RESULTS
Unlucky 13 Match
Gnarfflinger the Butcher vs. Black Dragon
Winner and advancing: Gnarfflinger the Butcher
Notes: Due to Dragon no-showing, Gnarff recieves an easy week. Ironic, because Gnarff's never NOT wanted to fight in his career. Good luck next round, Butcher.
Panes of Glass Match
Rhino vs. Masked Psycho A Wray
Winner and advancing: Masked Psycho A Wray
Notes: A Wray wrapped it up with a one-two combination from using the 72-hour rule. No doubt next round he'll have an opponent who'll fight, and give an impressive match.
Thumbtack Chair Match
Harold the Pretzel Man vs. Metal Dragon
Winner and advancing: Metal Dragon
Notes: Man, you guys made me proud. Both of you had very fluent use of the thumbtack chairs which is one of the most important elements of hardcore matches, to use the gimmick. Both of you had incredibly violent spectacles in your work, to the point where it could be a little risky, but hey, you did exactly what the match was set up for. Harold, hopefully this can serve as your initiation match, because I'd like to see you back in an RP Ring. Until then, I give Metal Dragon the nod for his amount of detail and description. Very strong RPer.
Home Run Derby
Trickshot vs. Hayden Hardkore vs. Bud Whiser
*TWO MEN ADVANCE TO NEXT ROUND*
Winners and advancing: Hayden Hardkore & Bud Whiser
Notes: With Trickshot out, Bud and Hayden got a lucky hand in the first round. Both men will be moving onto the semifinals, but not without a vicious attack from Hardkore on Whiser to make-up for it. We'll see how these two fare next week, and even if they can settle their differences come the finals.
Lighttubes, Ladders and Lemons Match
Sean Pierce vs. Dominik Santiago
Winner and advancing: Sean Pierce
Notes: Dominik put forth a good effort with ideas and effort, but the way Pierce was able to grasp the concept of the match left a bigger mark in my mind than anything else. Pierce's originality, use of announcers, and eloquent vocabulary left me quite amazed and very satisfied. This match goes to Pierce on two major things in my mind: Grasp of the match concept, originality, and one other thing that really bought me over: his vocabulary and usage of words.
ABC Match – Alconox, Bulbs and Chairs
Damien Kain vs. Black Acid
Winner and advancing: Damien Kain
Notes: Black Acid brought forth one of the most unique characters and entrances I've ever seen in this match. I was quite enthused between the character interaction here and hold high hopes for the new Fighty fighty person. Damien Kain did a superb job at bring forth drama and represtenting his stable's manager to make his match unique. The only thing I have to critisize Kain on is just the threat of the rare run-on sentence and perhaps find some way to refer to the two men in the match other than their respective names..such as where they're from or their weight class, even a designated nickname. Damien gets the win with a forefeiting Black Acid.
Boards Match
Rurouni Keishin Kobashi vs. Samoa Joe
Winner and advancing: Samoa Joe
Notes: Wow, quite the unofficial main event. Joe debuted with incredibly tone-setting product that really captured an actual wrestling match. Flow was very good, both RP itself and move progression and weaponry highlighted the match and became somewhat secondary to the technical wrestling presented. Kobashi has some issue with punctuation and clarity, still to slip-up on names or moves.
